heard this the other day - preposterous weezer meets queen via king crimson done by young folk who do that "screaming" thing v hair metal with a mentalese progulent pop querulousness. quite thrilling - i'm guessing it could wear you down into being quite annoyed about the whole thing, tho. i dunno...

I keep reading rapturous reviews of this band, but they're never described as being prog enough to make me go out and buy their album.

My friend was trying to get me to listen to these guys because she interviewed them or something, but assuming that it was more whiny screamo emo boy music, I was sort of afraid to try. So they're actually prog-emo???

not only are they prog-emo, but they have a story that will be told over the course of four albums. their 4th album will be chronologically first.

what a bunch of complete assholes.

one year passes...
There's a couple other threads about them but they're way too negative and intimidating. Anyway, what do you think of "The Suffering"? It's really grown on me. Like the bright 'classique' guitar sound. I don't think I dislike any of the recent crop of mainstream pomp/prog/goth/emo-type bands.

not only are they prog-emo

Wonderful.

they aren't emo. they are telling a fictional story. damn good one too.
