So it is a ZZ Top cover or not, then?

where?

cutty (mcutt), Friday, 6 February 2004 02:56 (twenty-two years ago)

better or worse than Party to Damascus?

ben welsh (benwelsh), Friday, 6 February 2004 04:39 (twenty-two years ago)

"Party To Damascus" was pretty good! or maybe it just sounded good in comparison to "Pass the Dutch"...

Al (sitcom), Friday, 6 February 2004 06:26 (twenty-two years ago)

something tells me if anything is dragging this one down it's ghost

No, it means Ethan lapsed into a sugar coma from eating two boxes of Sugar Smacks with chocolate milk again.

Have you been listening to ghostface lately?! Between "Beatles" and "Run," i don't think its possible that GFK could bring ANYBODY down.

djdee2005, Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Party To Damascus is better than Pass That Dutch. It's just a shame that it has verses on it.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:29 (twenty-two years ago)

what are these "beatles" and "run" songs you speak of? new singles? if so on what label? what the hell is he doing nowadays?

fdjkslf, Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

"beatles" and "run" are white label or underground releases or something..."Beatles" is him rapping over a one-track jack of "while my guitar gently weeps." "Run" is just plain incredible...you can find them on the bluebird. They were both released in the past 1-2 months.
His new album, "The Pretty Tony Album" is supposed to be out in the next 1-2 months.

I really dislike Party to Damascus. I'm not sure why everyone hated on Pass That Dutch. Too organic sounding for timbo?

djdee2005, Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

well that certainly wasn't why *i* hated on it, because i thought the organicism of "People Like Myself" was one of the most intriguing things Tim's ever done ... i think i just thought "been there, done that".

incidentally i totally agree with djdee2005; anyone who thinks Ghostface has ever fallen off is insane, though if "Run" is the track i'm thinking of (Jadakiss is on it, right?) Westwood was playing it longer ago than 1-2 months.

'Party To Damascus' fell apart every time the music changed for Wyclef to sing, then restitched itself for Missy's re-entrance. On balance, about even with the other 'PTD'.

"Tush" isn't bad at all, really, although I can see how it's not something people would really wanna hear from Ghost. the part where he sings along with the horns is awesome, though.

Al (sitcom), Friday, 13 February 2004 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

two weeks pass...
No this song is fucking awesome, I finally heard it.

Keep it low like SHUSH SHUSH SHUSH.

This would go over well at a party. Great song. $$ is on craaack.
