This, itself, sounds like a Paul Barman verse.

Old-school = I am a cool-ass artist who will enlarge the culture of hip-hop by taking interesting new slang terms and explaining them to you. As you hear me explain those terms, you will think that I am very cool and in-the-know and you will be filled with awe and wish that you, like me, were a part of this awesome culture. Because I am a part of the awesomeness and you are not, which is why you should respect me.
New-school = Dear small core of mostly-black fans who are "like me": I am totally just a cooler of version of you, to the extent that we use the same slang and have no need for translation. I am not from some place cooler than you -- I am from exactly the same place as you. Dear mass market of more white middle-class fans who are not like me: it is my understanding that by listening to my music you are forming a voyeuristic relationship with people who use this slang. I will not explain this slang to you, because if I explain it, then you will realize that I am talking to you, not the people who use the slang, and the whole voyeurism angle will be ruined, like in some fake "captured" video where someone really obviously looks at the camera.
Alternately, old-school = makes money by selling a new style to the mainstream; whereas new-school = makes money by convincing the mainstream that it is totally not for the mainstream, what are you talking about, this is some real shit from me to the streets.

Hence hip-hop now requires an element of suspension of disbelief! Which it did not, really, a long time ago!
