Cheers

Thanks...although my browser can't display it :-( Maybe I've just heard an advance copy played in a bar.

The video for "Cherry Blossom Girl" turns the song into the dreamiest, weirdest porno music ever. Especially when the flute solo comes in.

Yeah, the Henry Threadgill is a mean flautist.

Usual Channels, Sunday, 8 February 2004 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

i keep looking at these Air threads cos i hate 'em and i want to see if anyone else does.

five years pass...

anyone hear the new single ?

into it.

oscar, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 20:57 (sixteen years ago)

ya, i like it, too. going old school w/ the robot voice circa "how does it make you feel?" was at first a bit jarring but i've come to embrace it.

b0dylanguage, Thursday, 16 July 2009 19:24 (sixteen years ago)

It's nice enough but not a very strong opening single.

Spencer Chow, Thursday, 16 July 2009 21:37 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm far from wow-ed.

This album is kind of boring. Way too many noodly guitar instrumental tracks.

existential eggs (Abbott), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 18:29 (sixteen years ago)

there's a thread for it Air - Love 2 but yeah, i'm not into it much.

carne asada, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 18:42 (sixteen years ago)

it is autumn.

carne asada, Wednesday, 14 October 2009 18:46 (sixteen years ago)

I can't think of another band that's this hit or miss with their albums.

existential eggs (Abbott), Wednesday, 14 October 2009 18:53 (sixteen years ago)

how solid will that 'best of' compilation be tho

Interview with Nicolas Godin (in French) about his new Lalo Schifrin-esque soundtrack to a spy series. He happens to reveal that Air is finished. RIP.

( Was this common knowledge? I had no idea.)

An Uphill Battle For Legumes (Capitaine Jay Vee), Friday, 10 August 2018 11:32 (seven years ago)

I hadn't heard, but I'd assumed.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 10 August 2018 13:47 (seven years ago)

That soundtrack is pretty nice!

wayne trotsky (Simon H.), Friday, 10 August 2018 13:57 (seven years ago)

Still bummed out they cancelled their show on the talkie walkie the night of the show. Walked up to the ticket kiosk and was told they couldn’t get past the border

I'm bemused that there was no reference in the article to the Moon Safari tracks that feature Beth Hirsch's vocals. On this tour, who's going to sing "You Make It Easy"?

Vast Halo, Monday, 30 September 2024 10:55 (one year ago)

Dunckel sings it through a vocoder. For "All I Need" they just use a sample of her voice singing the title and it is otherwise instrumental. The show is stunning btw. The music, sound, arrangements, lights, staging, set...just mindblowing.

Saw it in Seattle and last night in LA. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen, just stunning in every way. If anything, the 2nd half of the show (non Moon Safari “hits”) was the real highlight.

If you’re at all curious about this show, just go.

Davey D, Monday, 30 September 2024 16:35 (one year ago)

Yep, saw this show at the Sydney Opera House a few months ago and it was fantastic.

Zelda Zonk, Monday, 30 September 2024 18:28 (one year ago)

I was very curious but it sold out months ago, before I heard about it happening

OTM as I mentioned on another Air thread - never saw them again after 2002 so really appreciated the Talkie Walkie inclusions

moral ziosk (geoffreyess), Monday, 7 October 2024 22:21 (one year ago)

I'm planning to go tomorrow night if the tix drop to a reasonable price.

Josh in Chicago, Monday, 7 October 2024 22:30 (one year ago)

Not looking good, but watching the subtle (and often inexplicable) fluctuations of the secondary market has been mildly interesting.

Josh in Chicago, Tuesday, 8 October 2024 22:50 (one year ago)

this was cool, we were up in a balcony and while we had a nice view i feel like the lightbox thing would have been best experienced from the floor. still looked/sounded great.
