who are they? i dont want a classic or dud, or a search or destry. i just found this old 10" of my brothers somewhere and i was curios. it kinda sounds like a weirded out chilli peppers.although ive never heard them, it could be like the butthole surfers.

other bands left abandoned by my brother that i am curious: fields of the nephelim (he seems to have been into these when he was 11! is that possible?) ultra vivid scene new fast automatic daffodils

Couldn't tell you anything about the Crazy Gods, but the other three bands are all great. 11, hm? Training goths early...

crazy gods etc: don't know. imagine them to be rubbish.

fields of the nephilim: silly, but not too bad.
ultra vivid scene: extremely ace in places.
new fads: pretty good. Big (baka) is very good.

New FADS are/were ace! A turn-of-the-nineties echo of some of the best industro-Factory Funk (ACR, 23 Skidoo etc etc) with a more powerful rock edge at times. There's a fair bit of discussion on some old thread or other (Britpop- related?). My favourite track = "Fishes Eyes".

Nephilim: ludicrous
Ultra Vivid Scene: totally forgotten they existed, though I do remember them being pretty good at the time.
New FADS: every bit as ace as the good Doctor says.

Crazy Gods were a south coast band in the Primus / Mr Bungle / Chilli Peppers vein. Early 90s, I think, extremely tight live, quite entertaining. Disappeared by about 95-96.

four years pass...
They were a 3 piece circa 90-98, South Coast region. Played a couple of gigs in Cornwall that I saw with the "Wild Turkeys' and "Rootjoose". Live act was excellent, full of crazy energy. Fretless bass, player was unbelievable as i recall.

I think you'll find I have the monopoly on mentioning Rootjoose on ILM, son
