S&D: Jazzland Recordings

As a Norwegian who've wobbled carelessly into jazz over the past few years, I still feel somewhat embarassed by my general ignorance of our supposedly thriving jazz scene. I know some of the bigwigs like Molvær, Rypdal, Wesseltoft and Garbarek, plus some of the Rune Grammofon artists, but really quite little beyond that.

SO a natural first step would be Jazzland and their roster of highly praised musicians and albums. Sooo happy ILJers, what do you think of Jazzland in general? Which of their recordings excite you? Why? What recordings launch your mehssiles or even hatepandas?

i remember a few years ago falling in love w/their website and listening to a bunch of clips on their site, but never actually purchasing anything. i think i found them through either a connection with some other Rune Grammofon artist or maybe someone on ECM

there's a female acapella group who are pretty amazing. can't remember the name. kinda like 4 pastoral diamanda galas intertwining.

Sidsel Endresen & Bugge Wesseltoft's Out Here. In There. on Jazzland is pretty great.
And Wibutee and Eivind Aarset have stuff released on Jazzland, but by them I've heard only a few (good) individual tracks.

the first wibutee is nice in a kind of jazzy trip hop with female vox way.
