Why does everybody hate ryan adams??

I get the feeling that a lot of people really hate ryan adams, why is that , can't really be his music , right?

From interviews and suchlike, Adams appears to be pretty erratic and whiny, not to say annoying - not just the recent Jim DeRogatory (ahahahaha!) business, but wasn't there something a few years ago where he claimed he was giving up music altogether on his website only to take it back the next day? It's a little crass and overly precious.

Musically, he can be very disappointing: Gold was a massive letdown after the promise of Heartbreaker, for example. It's pretty irritating to see this guy become a critics' darling when, half the time, all he seems to be doing is practising pastiche and releasing some 'demos' that are barely worthy of a b-side in lieu of a proper album.

I quite like him, myself.
