2. "I Will Refuse" by Pailhead
3. "No Name No Slogan" by Pailhead
4. "Rubber Glove Seduction" by PTP
5. "Supernaut" by 1000 Homo DJ's (preferably the original mix with Reznor on vox)
6. "Ride the Mindway" by My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 7 February 2004 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Ah, fuck....type-o. "No Name No SLogan" is ACID HORSE!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 7 February 2004 22:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, I would have chosen half that list, too, although the other half would be:

6.Three Angry Poles "Motorcycle"
7.Minimal Compact "Next One Is Real (next)"
8.Front 242 "W.Y.H.I.W.Y.G."
9.Pig "Never For Fun"
10.KMFDM "More and Faster"

and I would have changed the Ministry song to "Halloween remix" and the Revco song to "You Often Forget (Benign Version)".

donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 7 February 2004 22:31 (twenty-two years ago)

And something from Greater Than One's "G-Force" album.. probably the title track or "Why Do Men Have Nipples?"

donut bitch (donut), Saturday, 7 February 2004 22:33 (twenty-two years ago)

 1. Disco Hospital -- Coil
2. Teenage Lightning, Pt. 1 -- Coil
3. The Snow -- Coil
 4.  Dark River -- Coil
 5.  Where Even the Darkness Is Something to See -- Coil
6.   Windowpane -- Coil
 7.   Further Back and Faster -- Coil
 8.   Titan Arch -- Coil
 9.   Chaostrophy -- Coil
 10. Lorca Not Orca -- Coil

In other words, the best CD's worth of ducats that you can give to Wax Trax is by buying "Love's Secret Domain".

Nom De Plume (Nom De Plume), Saturday, 7 February 2004 22:36 (twenty-two years ago)

"No Name, No Slogan" - Acid Horse
"No Devotion" - RevCo
"Masterhit" - Front 242
"Kooler Than Jesus" - TKK
"Rubber Glove Seduction" - PTP
"I.C. Water" - Psychic TV
"A Daisy Chain 4 Satan" - TKK
"Love's Secret Domain" - Coil
"Physical" - RevCo
"Every Day Is Halloween" - Ministry

Honorable mention to "Show Me Your Spine" by PTP with Ogre on vocals, no official release to my knowledge.

anode (anode), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:33 (twenty-two years ago)

Why no Underworld? They were on Wax Trax! weren't they??

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:35 (twenty-two years ago)

They were, but not when they mattered.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:51 (twenty-two years ago)

Meat Beat Manifesto were on WT also, but I couldn't remember any of the good song names. That "this is genocide!" one can have an honorable mention too.

anode (anode), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:55 (twenty-two years ago)

"Dog Man Star" by MBM is far and away my fave by them.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Saturday, 7 February 2004 23:56 (twenty-two years ago)

the first meat beat single on wax trax, "god o.d." b/w "mars needs women" is a keeper. pailhead and revco's "beers, steers" are my two favorite albums. how about a tip of the hat to all of the marginal, but well-intentioned early wax trax artists like a popular history of signs, mimimal man and blackouts. not to mention the first two singles -- strike under and divine. good times, good times.

notfazed (notfazed), Sunday, 8 February 2004 00:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Hooray for Strike Under

Andy K (Andy K), Sunday, 8 February 2004 00:47 (twenty-two years ago)

I was gonna pull a "list only all tracks off 'Storm The Studio' by Meat Beat Manifesto" thing, but then decided it was tacky. Then Nom De Plume did that with Coil. And then I decided it wasn't as tacky as I thought it would be.

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 8 February 2004 01:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Wiseblood "Motorslug/Death Rape 2000". Someone needs to use "Death Rape 2000" in a hip-hop song.

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 8 February 2004 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

and they did release a pretty damn good Foetus comp, "Sink".

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 8 February 2004 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

I'll add these to the fray:

Lard "Fork Boy"
KMFDM "A Drug Against War"

Although there are some slag tracks, the first half of Lard's "The Last Tempation of Reid" is great. It is definitely some of the best music Jello was involved with other than the DK's.

earlnash, Sunday, 8 February 2004 01:56 (twenty-two years ago)

There should be a POX: Wax Trax Videos! Laibach's "Gerburt Einer Nation" would win the prize.

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 8 February 2004 01:58 (twenty-two years ago)

"RUBBER ON TARMAC ON SKIN ON BONE"- best line ever!

also "I Don't Need God" by Greater than One

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Sunday, 8 February 2004 05:00 (twenty-two years ago)

"Mate, Spawn & Die" by Lard is amazing as well....but weren't Lard on Alternative Tentacles?

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 8 February 2004 19:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes indeed, Lard were on Alt Tentacles.
Can I add KMFDM "Go To Hell" to the list?
And TKK "Days of Swine and Roses."

Hey Alex, incidentally, as a result of the cumulative effect of reading many many postings on ILM on the subject.. I recently picked up the first Killing Joke album.

daria g (daria g), Sunday, 8 February 2004 21:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"No Name No Slogan"
"Rubber Glove Seduction"
"Why do Men have Nipples?" (thanks db)
"Supernaut"
"Beers, Steers and Queers"
"Godlike" -- KMFDM
"Violent Peace" -- Excessive Force
"Headhunter" -- Front 242
"Halloween Remix" -- Ministry
"Nothing Stays" -- Cyberactif

damn, almost everything on this list is Ministry or one of their side projects

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Sunday, 8 February 2004 21:25 (twenty-two years ago)

I recently picked up the first Killing Joke album.

Breakthrough!

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Sunday, 8 February 2004 21:53 (twenty-two years ago)

Many good choices so far, but I would have to include:

"Don't Blow Your Top" - KMFDM
"Nevous Xians" - TKK
"Born Slippy (original mix)" - Underworld
"The Nature Of Love" - Ministry

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Sunday, 8 February 2004 22:40 (twenty-two years ago)

I really dug the "In case you didn't feel like showing up" Ministry live cd back in the day.

Stigmata!!

hector (hector), Sunday, 8 February 2004 23:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm actually partial to Wreck's "House Of Boris" EP... which is atypical WT fare.

donut bitch (donut), Sunday, 8 February 2004 23:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I really dug the "In case you didn't feel like showing up" Ministry live cd back in the day.
Absolutely pales vs. the video. H-Gun wass awesome.

anode (anode), Sunday, 8 February 2004 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

The video would've been vastly improved if they ditched all the incredibly cheesy video effects.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 February 2004 00:43 (twenty-two years ago)

No way, the cheesy special effects totally made it. Than and Chris Connelly scaling the cage.

anode (anode), Monday, 9 February 2004 01:09 (twenty-two years ago)

< total nitpick >

"in case you didn't feel like showing up" wasn't released on Wax Trax!

< /total nitpick >

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 9 February 2004 01:20 (twenty-two years ago)

ouch...

and I went and checked and she was right. It was on sire.

oh well..

STIGMATA!!

hector (hector), Monday, 9 February 2004 01:39 (twenty-two years ago)

< another total nitpick >

"stigmata" wasn't released on Wax Trax! either. ;-)

< /another total nitpick >

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 9 February 2004 01:51 (twenty-two years ago)

The right answer to this entire thread is, of course, 1000 Homo Dj's version of "Supernaut".

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 9 February 2004 01:58 (twenty-two years ago)

Also, Pailhead's "Man Shall Surrender".

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 February 2004 03:03 (twenty-two years ago)

Minimal Compact was on this label? Like, Malka Spigel's Minimal Compact?

sundar subramanian (sundar), Monday, 9 February 2004 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

WT released just one single.. "Next One Is Real".. with four b-sides.. all different versions of 1984 era songs.. some from the "Deadly Weapons" album. It's their one and only Wax Trax single from 1985.

Yup, that Minimal Compact.

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 9 February 2004 04:26 (twenty-two years ago)

you are pretty good donut girl sounds like you were around at the time?

I think my memory must be clouded from that time from excessive crazyness. How about the PTV album beyond the infinate beat?

STAINLESS STEEL PROVIDERS! yes finally I got one and it was awesome too.

also Tainted Love by Coil and
God OD by Meat Beat!

hector (hector), Monday, 9 February 2004 06:09 (twenty-two years ago)

(Donut Girl is actually Donut Guy, but that's another story.)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 February 2004 06:14 (twenty-two years ago)

if you count the tri repetae US release then definitely those 10 tracks. kind of cheating tho...

Elliot (Elliot), Monday, 9 February 2004 06:55 (twenty-two years ago)

Were the Gruesome Twosome (Minimal Compact singer's industrial dance project) on WT?

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Monday, 9 February 2004 08:48 (twenty-two years ago)

Nope. Nettwerk. (That was Minimal Compact's singer's project? really?)

donut bitch (donut), Monday, 9 February 2004 09:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah I discovered that recently. After MC broke up, Sami did one album as the Gruesome Twosome (accompanied by Bertrand Burgalat!) on Crammed Records.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Monday, 9 February 2004 09:39 (twenty-two years ago)

moremoremoremoremoremoremoremoremoremore

Revco - "Cattle Grind"
TKK - "These Remains"

turkey (turkey), Monday, 9 February 2004 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

and nobody's mentionned Laibach "Geburt einer Nation" + KMFDM "Godlike"

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Monday, 9 February 2004 10:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Didn't the first Young Gods album come out on Wax Trax? (Just found a Wax Trax discog, and yes, so...)
