I'M MISSING EL GRAN COMBO BECAUSE I DIDN'T BUY TICKETS SOON ENOUGH!

I thought I was going to go with a friend, but then something personal came up with her that is keeping her from wanting to go out in general. I didn't want to go without a date of some sort, but now I wish I had just bought a ticket for myself. By the time I finally decided to do that, this week, tickets were gone of course.

EL GRAN COMBO! One of the best salsa bands, one of the best bands, ever, and I am missing them right now while they perform in a hotel where I go to the gym. Never again. In the future I must set a deadline and say, okay, if I don't have anyone committed to go by this date, I will just buy a ticket for myself (or buy two tickets and put pressure on myself to find someone else--I could have brought my older brother along to show him what salsa is about).

Fuck the Shibusashirazu Orchestra, I wish I could be seeing El Gran Combo.

Does your friend have tickets?

I was talking about it at a party in December, and then the time rolled around and I watched as I procrastinated, and now I am missing them. Maybe they will be back to Philadelphia within a year, since they were just here last Spring, I think, but that was at a club in North Philadelphia that I can't really go to unless I would have a ride home. (I don't want to be trying to hail a taxi in the barrio at 2AM.)

(Did you have any question about who had posted this thread before opening it?)

x-post: I don't know for sure, but I don't think so. My friend is in mourning and said she would let me know when she feels ready to go out dancing again. I respect that and don't want to put pressure on her to go out and have fun when she isn't feeling that way, so I've basically backed off. Also, I don't know her that extremely well. We've talked about some personal things, but mostly we are just dance friends.

I've missed them in the DC area now twice over the last few years(stayed home parenting, and the show starts too late to take my son--who wasn't real crazy about the NY Latin-jazz w/ a touch of salsa show I did take him to in a sit-down ). I like the El Gran Combo cds I have.
