(note: I missed them accepting/winning the Grammy so I might just be ignorant here)

That Best New Artist curse works quicker than usual these days!

"The dark-rock band Evanescence won best new artist, but guitarist Ben Moody — who founded the group with singer Amy Lee — has already left the group. The two had a cold reunion onstage, then told reporters — in separate sessions — how glad they are to be free of each other."

I think Amy Lee has a future, no? It was her that made Evanescence stand out from the rest of the modern-rock pack. The guitarist, I'm not so sure.

less breaking up more making out (with the singer)

stevem (blueski), Monday, 9 February 2004 11:15 (twenty-two years ago)

"Bring Me To Life" is the new "Take My Breath Away". I've decided.

Dom Passantino (Dom Passantino), Monday, 9 February 2004 11:21 (twenty-two years ago)

alright

stevem (blueski), Monday, 9 February 2004 11:22 (twenty-two years ago)

Old news that the guitarist is out; I believe I read somewhere that Wes Borland may be joining the group. Meanwhile, the world yawns.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Monday, 9 February 2004 11:54 (twenty-two years ago)

guitarist = off to April Lasagne, isn't he?

mark grout (mark grout), Monday, 9 February 2004 12:01 (twenty-two years ago)

Wow, Wes Borland in Evanescemce would make me smile a lot (Amy Lee >>>>>>>>> Fred Durst).

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:22 (twenty-two years ago)

This is very true (on both counts).

Ned Raggett (Ned), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:29 (twenty-two years ago)

The band has broken up. I'm pretty sure Amy Lee will continue using the band's name to release records.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, HAS NOT BROKEN UP. I'm a retard. Sorry.

Jeanne Fury (Jeanne Fury), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:37 (twenty-two years ago)

I thought he left the band months ago?

What I want to know is who was the dude in the suit who came up with the two band members? Was he in the band? A producer?

bill stevens (bscrubbins), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:44 (twenty-two years ago)

the Cold guitarist is Moody's replacement:

"Bring Me To Life" is the new "Take My Breath Away". I've decided.

Mmmm.......mebbe, but "Take My Breath Away" didn't feature a slackjawed break into spandexed hair metal (the nu-metal equivalent of the day), it was simply straight synth-pop fluff from start to finish, so it didn't spot-weld genres like "Bring me to Life" is so labouriously cited as doing.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Monday, 9 February 2004 18:49 (twenty-two years ago)

"My Immortal" is a better song, anyway.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 9 February 2004 19:34 (twenty-two years ago)

He left around the time Evanescence decided not to be a Christian band -- last summer. The emoting continues!

Ian Christe (Ian Christe), Monday, 9 February 2004 19:45 (twenty-two years ago)

Wait, so he's going to keep music 4 REAL now?

Avril Lavigne to sing brooding songs about Jesus's love for her. This will be fantastic, when she starts doing this she'll be full-time good and I can admit I like "I'm With You" again.

edward o (edwardo), Monday, 9 February 2004 19:50 (twenty-two years ago)

And the world... cares, rejoices, mourns, speculates? I personally could care less. Womp.

James Slone (Freon Trotsky), Monday, 9 February 2004 20:19 (twenty-two years ago)

where'd you get that lightsabre anyway?

stevem (blueski), Monday, 9 February 2004 21:23 (twenty-two years ago)
