from the wire:

Work has commenced on a new Backstreet Boys album.
After a two-year absence from each other, the quintet reconvened about three weeks ago to start writing and creating new music.
“This two-year break has been good,” said A.J. McLean. “We’ve all grown apart and back together. Personally I think we’re stronger than we’ve ever been.”
After spending several months in rehab for alcoholism, McLean said the band’s dynamics are different.
“I’m coming up on two years sober. My life has completely changed. This is my first album with the boys completely sober. I’m looking forward to it. It’s a whole new world for me.”
But now that they’ve all grown into men, can they make the world fall in love again with a boy band?
“I hope so,” says Brian Littrell. “It’s been a good two years. A lot of pop music and boy band backlash is kind of done with. We just want to make good music.”
He said the new album will differ from their previous bubblegum harmonies.
“It’s a little different. We can’t give a whole lot away because we’re in the experimental stage,” Littrell said.
Adds McLean: “Obviously some of the lyrical content will be more adult, not in the sense of vulgarity but we’re all grown men. Some of the stuff won’t be the same poppy stuff we did before.”

I'm with Huck. The NKOTB album I believe it (and the band) were called.

granted the backstreet boys album will be a total dud, but whats the concensus on a new nsync album? i wouldnt be surprised if they did one more record. kinda like michael jackson and the jackson 5. (im not too well schooled on all of it, but i remember that fucking awesome video of michael and the jacksons as giants doing tron like stuff with rainbows and such)

* The Tron-vid is 'Can You Feel It?', yeah?

* After seeing him on Punk'd, I imagine entire studio sessions of Kevin calling everyone 'dog'. Bet the man's gonna write a song named 'Dog' someday. About a guy who's his dog. Y'know, his dawg.

It will be a duet with Randy Jackson.

New Backstreet Boys? I would be excited, but presently my attention has been diverted to JC Chasez and his impending release, which, from what I've already heard, totally and utterly rocks like a rocking rock.

ROCK!
