Ben Liebrand mixes always were a big thing at the end of the year here in the Netherlands (he made them from the early 80s until the early 90s). I never really cared for them (I was a little more of a snobby rockist then than I am now), but a lot of people taped them off the radio. Here's some more info if you're interested.
