'Radiator' is just amazing. But they haven't made a bad album...

I like Guerilla best. (Just found out about the secret rewindie track, shall investigate when I get home).

I got the last 2 albums recently at the quayside market, newcastle (the DVD versions) for a fiver each... will have to 'minidisc' them to play in the car...

Of the ones I've got, probably Radiator; I haven't got Mwng or Outspaced (yet) 'though - should I bother?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 11 February 2004 10:35 (twenty-two years ago)

A close call between a lot of albums here, but my choice remains "Radiator". Never released anything but brilliant ones though.

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Wednesday, 11 February 2004 12:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm going to say Radiator too. It has "Chupa-Cabras" on after all, my all time fave SFA track.

Outspaced is pretty good, although they left off one of the best B-sides they ever did, "Wrap It Up", plus no "Ice Hockey Hair". It also comes in a lovely limited edition rubber case which will fuck up your CD racks no end.

If you have outspaced it has an extra instrumental at the start as well if you rewind. I tested way too many cd's on the day I found the secret songs on outspaced and geurilla. no luck though.

Radiator is my favourite by the way. She's got spies is great.

mwng by far
their other stuff is frequently great, but i think mwng much much better than anything they've ever done...

Nathan OTM about "She's Got Spies"

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Thursday, 12 February 2004 02:03 (twenty-two years ago)

'Out Spaced' starts with 'The Man Don't Give a *%^&, enough said...though the twenty minute techno/whatever/dressed as animals with trumpets versions they tend to do live are probably superior...

what's this about secret tracks when you rewind? how far do you have to go back?? i'm intrigued...

thomas, Thursday, 12 February 2004 12:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i really can't decide. all the albums are great. erm I guess it's between Fuzzy Logic, Radiatior and Mwng, depending on my mood.

jellybean (jellybean), Thursday, 12 February 2004 14:05 (twenty-two years ago)

All are great, but my favourites are Fuzzy Logic and Radiator.

Some thoughts: Outspaced is the worth the money. Both hidden tracks in Outspaced and Guerrilla are better than some of the "real" tracks in them.

JP Almeida (JP Almeida), Thursday, 12 February 2004 14:10 (twenty-two years ago)

"radiator" is their best by quite some distance. there's so much about them that i like, but they're consistently poor at getting the balance right over the course of an album. it has the best balance of pop and craziness. the newest one makes a decent fist of it, but it's a bit mid-paced and dull.

weasel diesel (K1l14n), Thursday, 12 February 2004 15:38 (twenty-two years ago)

Apparently, a vinyl album has a 'hidden track'!

If you have the LP "Rings around the world", the front cover has a seven inch single inside it. One side is blank, the other has a never-ending loop scratch.

(someone else thought it was in "guerilla" so check your albums..)
