Hi guys, I've gone to this place on Wednesday nights, and the DJ plays great new wave/80s music. Not the cheesy kind, but the good stuff. It's not very often that you can find places like this that will play this kind of music, so come check it out!

I hate the 80s. I was seeing a friend while I'm in Ottawa and he
wanted to go to 80s night at Barrymore's. We waited in line in the
freezing fucking cold for a fucking half hour so we could go in and
hear fucking "Legs" as soon as we enter. Recorded 80s music! With
no visuals except some shitty 80s movies that had no connection at
all to the music and that I didn't recognize because I was in fucking
grade school at the time. Like, yeah, they played "You Give Love a
Bad Name" and "Cum on Feel the Noize" but I have the fucking records
at home so what's the excitement? I guess I don't own "She Sells
Sanctuary" or "Back in Black" but I could find the records cheap if I
wanted or just turn on the fucking radio. (Yeah, they played the
synthy stuff too, I just didn't pay as much attention.) And then
when someone asked if I wanted to dance I just muttered this feeble-
ass "I really need to go home, my mother will be waiting up" and when
she replied "Well then you should have been home hours ago" I took
that as "Gee I should really get going" instead of "Might as well
dance for a bit if I'm this late anyway." My ears are still fucking
frozen. I hate Ottawa.
If you're in New York, don't go to 80s night. It sucks, I can assure
you.
