Whatever happened to Kazaalite?

I'm giving up on Soulseek 'cos it just insists on crashing horribly each time I try and use it. But now the version of Kazaa with all the evil bits exorcised seems to have disappeared. Anyone know where I can find it?

Google for it and you may find a mirror site that still has it. It's really good, way better than Kazaa and way better than asslicking slsk.

Soulseeks problem is that it's too good, try typing in a reasonably popular artist and watch your computer skitz out as it trys to cope with all information. Kazaa doesn't have this problem - however it does have the problem of half of its popular mpegs being duds with noise that kicks in 20 seconds in.

anyone tried using this winmx thing yet? aparently it gives you your downloads sequentially unlike kazaa, so you can check out what you are downloading, while you are getting it, thus eliminmating the long wait for a dud problem.
anyone know a better place than slsk to download old acid house/ hardcore tunes?

gatinha, go to www.oldversion.com to get the most up to date old version of kazaa lite. kazaa lite was shut down by kazaa some time ago but you can still get it from oldversion.com

Yeah, it's exactly like slsk except the downloads actually work, even if you don't pay and also 1000X more reliable.

kazaa is better for "popular" music - particularly rap

WinMX is decent, but doesn't generate as many results as KaZaA. Also, many of the results on WinMX are not downloadable. It's not bad overall though, and definitely worth trying.

If you want more popular music, try using Bittorrent in conjunction with a Bittorrent tracker such as www.suprnova.org

Slsk rules supreme over all others for rare music however.
