Where one reads only of a "tribute" to the "80s" band, nothing about new songs. Or did I miss it?

here there is this part:.
Wednesday 18th February

Colossal Youth: The Story of Young Marble Giants. In the early 1980's Cardiff's Young Marble Giants were touted as 'the future of rock 'n' roll.' Today in Wales, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who's heard of them. However, they influenced a whole load of international acts including Nirvana, REM, Courtney Love and David Byrne and are still cultishly popular with today's alternative music fans. Colossal Youth tells the story of who they are, why they were important and why they've decided to reform and record new songs for this documentary. The presenter is Huw Williams

I know the guy at the BBC that's produced this. Apparently, Alison had to leave the fresh sessions early to pick up her kids from school. Haven't heard anything yet, but I've heard the tracks are no disappointment.

And yes, the presenter is Huw Williams of The Pooh Sticks.

did you know that a brief bit from ymg's 'radio silents' is used as the background music for the station promos on the major french/german public tv station, arte? does stuart know about this?

amateur!st (amateurist), Sunday, 15 February 2004 09:02 (twenty-two years ago)

i think the music is credited as being *by* a band called 'radio silents' which might mean they're not paying stuart royalties, which would suck because they play it dozens of times a day

I am uploading photos from their BBC session as we speak. TO see them, go to http://www.appelstein.com/ymg and click on "photos."
