I got a letter from my friend the other day
I opened and read it and it said:
I need your help.

In the midst of preparing for the in-class essay I have tomorrow (it'll be areal crap shoot whether or not I get the topic that I want), I started making an South Asian-influenced hip hop mix. This was partly a reaction to the article on Virginia Beach that you linked.

Obviously, I started with the Beware of the Boys remix, the rest is as follows (some are a stretch):

One and All, Indian Flute - Timbaland and Magoo
The Flyest - Nas ft. Pharrell
Get Your Freak On - Missy Elliott
Mysterious Wayz - Zion I
Oochie Wally - QB's Finest
Nothing - Noreaga
My Guru - DJ Shadow
Addictive - Truth Hurts ft. Rakim
Big Pimpin - Jay Z

Any ideas?

Over to you.

For a second I thought you were about to tell us about the Nigerian bank accounts.

I wouldn't restrict it to hip-hop. Throw in some UK Garage too!

i thought your friend was going to tell you that he was a sucker.

anyways, my blindingly obvious suggestions would have to be that punjabi MC/Jay-z track and Eric Sermon's "react" Freeway's "flipsides" also has a quasi eastern sounding melody on it.

I'd rectify the fact that Automator produced 'My Guru', not Shadow. I'd also throw in Basement Jaxx's 'Lucky Star', Artful Dodger's 'Ruffneck Sound' (Basement Mix), Kardinall Offishall's 'Belly Dancer' and some Timba shit I'm forgetting.
