All my 7"s fall into one of two categories: those that I will never, ever sell; and those that no one would ever, ever buy

...making this plan to fund my move by selling 7"s on ebay very, very frustrating.

What won't people buy?

Aja (aja), Sunday, 15 February 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

What are you selling?

ModJ (ModJ), Sunday, 15 February 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Becuz I, too, am in NYC, and haven't had a binge buy in a while...

ModJ (ModJ), Sunday, 15 February 2004 18:31 (twenty-one years ago)

Someone might buy the stuff you think no one will buy. I mean, didn't you buy it?

Aja (aja), Sunday, 15 February 2004 18:46 (twenty-one years ago)

you ought to just give me the ones that no one will ever ever buy, because, hey, no one will ever ever buy them! (e-mail me a list before you put em on ebay though, seriously.)

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 15 February 2004 18:47 (twenty-one years ago)

well, there's currently a crapload of stuff up on ebay under my username roger_adultery, and if any of you win anything, I'll only charge you $1 shipping (that's 75% off!). Just identify yrself as an ILMer.

Sorry to pimp stuff on the board, but since yall asked...

A friend and I cleaned out his storage space a while back and found hundreds of 7"s, a few of which are cool / worth something, but 80% full of bands you've never heard of, local 'talent,' and bands that were cool once but now don't fetch anything on eBay.

Some of my favorite records are 7"s, and I'm a great defender of the format.

Avoid having to sell limited edition promo singles from D-Generation from 1995 and you might be set.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Sunday, 15 February 2004 19:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Dood, you have the Anniversary/Proudentall split...

ModJ (ModJ), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:23 (twenty-one years ago)

yep. its yours if you want it.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:31 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm amazed that Daughters are as popular as they are. totally amazed.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Ha! You should read my review of their new record. I reference The Great Kat's cover of "Flight of the Bumblebee" and suggest Justin Pearson hire a bodyguard.

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

haha. i saw their first show and they sounded like mohinder. in the three or so months surrounding the release of that record, I must have seen them almost every week. they tend(ed) to play with good bands in Providence. now they play with lame hardcore bands when they play at all.

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:45 (twenty-one years ago)

That doesn't surprise me. Canada Songs is AWFUL. But more bands should steal from Mohinder - wot a great band!

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 15 February 2004 20:55 (twenty-one years ago)

Seeing Melt Banana with Daughters was pretty great, I was boxing the ears of douchebag high school hardcore geeks with terrible haircuts and lots of fashion accesories. I ended up knocking out some dudes plugs! Hooray!

One of my friend says they're wicked dicks about booking shows and make you give them cash money up front or something. This was a focking show for like Food Not Bombs or some hippie shit too.

Jon Williams (ex machina), Sunday, 15 February 2004 21:00 (twenty-one years ago)

sam is a nice dude. but it doesn't surprise me that they're dicks--all the as the sun sets kids were. that whole black hair scene is filled (overflowing).

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 15 February 2004 21:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I think Swing Kids set the precedent for that. "be assholes - emo fans are masochistic chumps" seems to be the general ethos

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 15 February 2004 21:04 (twenty-one years ago)

but where do all the nice food not bombs/neck beards/flannel kids fit in?!?!!

Ian Johnson (orion), Sunday, 15 February 2004 21:05 (twenty-one years ago)

at the merch table

roger adultery (roger adultery), Sunday, 15 February 2004 21:06 (twenty-one years ago)

The good news about them not playing with bands I like is that the dipshits who like them never show up anywhere.

The biggest used CD store in Oslo is generally reluctant about receiving CDs by Norwegian acts, as they already have about 50 copies of most of them.

The good thing is, Norwegian CDs usually get deleted after 10 years or so, so then I may come back in 10 years when people start coming and asking if they have that one particular deleted CD :-)

Geir Hongro (GeirHong), Sunday, 15 February 2004 22:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Does that $1 shipping special go for cds too?

Colin Beckett (Colin Beckett), Sunday, 15 February 2004 22:45 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah man it goes for everything!

roger adultery (roger adultery), Monday, 16 February 2004 06:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Hey, Roger! E-mail me if you still want to sell that Neon Hunk 7"... I frickin' forgot to bid on it before it ended!
