This hasn't actually been released, right? But it's been all over my TV for about three months. Just fucking release it, see it bomb, and go back to the lab, cos this shit isn't good enough!

you're about five months too late to bitch about this.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 16 February 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

ilm: pop culture on time delay.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Monday, 16 February 2004 12:45 (twenty-two years ago)

That's what I mean. It's still all over the shop, and has been since forever. What's going on?

NRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 13:42 (twenty-two years ago)

The current McDs advertising cycle hasn't finished yet?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Monday, 16 February 2004 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

It's my penchant for local tv/radio that is causin' an effect here. I wish they'd lose this track already. I don't even know if it's been released yet!

Enrique (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 13:48 (twenty-two years ago)

dude, maybe Rolling Stone is giving it away as a floppy cd inside their new JUSTIN SPECIAL!!!

My Huckleberry Friend (Horace Mann), Monday, 16 February 2004 14:36 (twenty-two years ago)

I really like "I'm Lovin' It", I think it's better than most of Justified. shame that it's been twisted into those horrible McDonald's jingles where people rhyme "boyfriend" with "napkins".

Al (sitcom), Monday, 16 February 2004 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

You are on crack. It's terrible. But no-one's said if it's been released yet. I don't think it has, but it's been on my TV for like 4 months. Does no-one find that unusual?

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I believe it was released as part of a DVD package a few months ago, dunno if there's been a standalone single.

the percussion on the track is great, it's almost like the "Grindin'" drums shoehorned into a more typically upbeat Neptunes beat.

Al (sitcom), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh right! Okay, that sort of explains it. A non-single single. Jesus.

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:16 (twenty-two years ago)

"I'm Lovin' It" is so fucking awful that they're using it in secret labs as the cornerstone of a eugenics program to create breed men without testicles.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:17 (twenty-two years ago)

i think it sounds really really like the bill hicks sketch where he's talking about george michael doing a pepsi ad

robin (robin), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:18 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan, I ph34r it's working. Grindin my arse!

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:20 (twenty-two years ago)

sounds painful

nate detritus (natedetritus), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Nate wins.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:27 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't see why that's so preposterous - when I think boyfriend I always think napkins!

I enjoy the light, lazy jitter of the song. When it comes on I'm not exactly excited but I'm like, "Eh, whatever" and dance in the smallest way possible, like a napkin in the breeze. Until it gets wet that is. (Boom I fucked your naaaaaapkin!)

Le Coq, Monday, 16 February 2004 15:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Bet I have your napkin by the end of this song...

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you think all this is deliberate? Getting the song out there for months, getting it on the adverts - it's like total Justin immersion, but without the Justin.

Jim Robinson (Original Miscreant), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:48 (twenty-two years ago)

TS - the claps on 'I'm Lovin It' vs the claps on Nelly Furtado's 'Powerless'

stevem (blueski), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:52 (twenty-two years ago)

On another thread someone said the only good thing abt the song is that the girl in the video is buff. You can't argue with that, but in every other sense the vid is as bawrin' as the song.

Nelly wins, obv.

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:53 (twenty-two years ago)

surely someone has bootlegged this with Janet Jackson already

i'm lovin' tit - ba da bup bap, woops... (blueski), Monday, 16 February 2004 15:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Nelly CLEARLY wins! First off, her song is great and Justin's is unbearable diseased ass.

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:06 (twenty-two years ago)

OTM, though I can see that Nelly is gonna be a controversial choice on ILM. Thinking about it, Nelly's song has been blowing up my radio since December too. When did this begin, this insane lead-time madness?

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:10 (twenty-two years ago)

DJP on fiyah

Andy K (Andy K), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:12 (twenty-two years ago)

Nelly CLEARLY wins! First off, her song is great and Justin's is unbearable diseased ass.

That is possibly the wrongest thing i have evah read on ILM. evah. That Justin track owns you all!!

And that nelly song? THE CRAP! I mean, c'mon! How weak is that chorus!!

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:16 (twenty-two years ago)

Jole, you are the mayor of Wrongsville. The Nelly track rewls. Banjo! Swirly noises! JT's effort has put me right off JT, though, yes, the girl in the vid is buff.

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Uh, ENRQ, did you hear the bit where she goes "what are you gunna do?".

SUCKFACTOR 10!

and that is 10!, like 3628800. Like THAT.

I mean, dude. Seriously.

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:40 (twenty-two years ago)

'what're you gonna do' = standard response round my way

but anyway, TS that vs the tuneless, not-very-danceable-either rottenness of 'I'm Lovin It'. Nelly wins for me, though her vid is sucky.

Justin needs to shape up too -- going around witht that teen bumfluff ain't becoming.

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:46 (twenty-two years ago)

I just like the handclaps in JT's song. Luscious. And it modulates. And it is not an empowering anthem

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah! Empowerment suxx!

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:54 (twenty-two years ago)

No, anthems suck. I don't need your stupid anthem.

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:57 (twenty-two years ago)

'Grindin'' is a kind of anthem...

ENRQ (Enrique), Monday, 16 February 2004 16:58 (twenty-two years ago)

You'll have to excuse me while I download and listen, I actually do live under a rock.

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 17:08 (twenty-two years ago)

Well I've heard it. The JT track is still awesome. I mean seriously. seriously

Jole (Jole), Monday, 16 February 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)
