Unfairly maligned? Rightfully ridiculed?

Isn't he one of the richest living musicians or something?

He's got some good songs & he created an unusual world.

20 years ago classic, now dud.

travelled across new mex in a Dodge Aries listening to that greatest hits album, so my opinion is biased. Thing is his parrotness is so self awarely cheesy, so unashamedly sentimental and so distinkt from any of the genres it could occupy, that his back catalougue is like a huge dragon, draped lazily over the badlands between classic and dud. So the answer to you question is, yes.

Fuckin' DUD, DUD, DUD, DUD.

I used to live in Florida and he deserves to burn for all eternity in the fiery pits of Hell for unleashing a plague of no-talent guitarists in horrific shirts singing 'Margaritaville' in every beach bar in the state. Doesn't get any dudder.

Has anyone outside of the US ever bought a Jimmy Buffett record?

Margaritaville is possibly the worst song in the history of recorded sound.

Fuckin' DUD, DUD, DUD, DUD.

Last time I went to karaoke, someone invariably performed "Margaritaville," which apparently has callbacks. When he sang "searching for my lost shaker of salt," everyone in the bar shouted, "Where's the salt? Where's the motherfucking salt?" This was the first time I'd encountered anyone doing callbacks for this song, which did nothing to worsen it.

that is terrible.

A few decent songs. "A Pirate Looks at 40" comes to mind. Overall: dudley dud dud dud. He's the Grateful Dead of smarmy lounge singers.

The misspelled thread title makes me think of an artist-specific music joke
