If Satan is Waiting for You...

If Satan is waiting for you in Hell(and he probably is), planning your eternal suffering, then what album does he have ready to play for you again and again, very loud, forEVAH. I think Michael Bolton's 'The Power of Love' could inflict some deep psychic wounds. But we all suffer for different reasons and the Dark Lord will know what will work best.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:26 (twenty-two years ago)

Just one song.

"Old Time Rock and Roll".

nate detritus (natedetritus), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Any No Doubt album.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:30 (twenty-two years ago)

"You Can Call Me Al"

Famous Athlete, Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:33 (twenty-two years ago)

that fucking deadeye dick song

disco duckington (Jody Beth Rosen), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:37 (twenty-two years ago)

"Your Body Is A Wonderland"

Poppy (poppy), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:38 (twenty-two years ago)

OH GOD!!!!!

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:38 (twenty-two years ago)

"Baby I've been watching you"

Jole (Jole), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:42 (twenty-two years ago)

How 'bout that fucking 'Cotton-eye joe' song. They play it at hockey songs in Canada. It hurts...But what what album is, for you, the most potentially evil.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:42 (twenty-two years ago)

Suite: Judy Blue Eyes

samm, Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:44 (twenty-two years ago)

Dan Hill "Sometimes When We Touch" over and over and over and over

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:45 (twenty-two years ago)

That awful Carol Burnett/Julie Andrews medley I saw mentioned on another thread awhile back would do the trick.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:50 (twenty-two years ago)

Captain & Tenille's cover of "God Only Knows".. followed by every live Eagles concert ever.

donut bitch (donut), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:53 (twenty-two years ago)

That's Chuck Eddy's heaven right there.

Gear! (Gear!), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:54 (twenty-two years ago)

Satan would play all the albums I love over and over until I start to hate them. And then he would have Simple Plan (who are his minions, after all)perform a private concert while stepping on my scrotum and butchering my favorite songs with horrendous cover versions of them.

latebloomer (latebloomer), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:54 (twenty-two years ago)

pink floyd - dark side of the moon

snd, Tuesday, 17 February 2004 05:59 (twenty-two years ago)

Ok then. He would have Geddy Lee and the Bee-Gees make an album of Nickelback covers performed in a late seventies dico style. And then he would eloctrocute me anally. I would stil choose anal electrocution over listening to Geddy Lee.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:02 (twenty-two years ago)

o .
my.
god.

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:03 (twenty-two years ago)

That bastard Beelzebub would put on somethin' nice and meaningful like "Don't Fear The Reaper" and I would think this is all right, but it would start skipping on the bridge and stay there forever...

jim wentworth (wench), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:12 (twenty-two years ago)

How 'bout that fucking 'Cotton-eye joe' song. They play it at hockey songs in Canada. It hurts...But what what album is, for you, the most potentially evil.
-- Jaromil (hughelio...), February 17th, 2004.

YES.

They played that fucking song at every single summer camp dance, and in gym class during the warm up and I am convinced it was designed by a team of sweedish scientests (the same ones who came up with that mattress a baseball pitcher can throw an egg at and it won't break) to make my life worse.

David Allen (David Allen), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:16 (twenty-two years ago)

haha "where's the fucking bridge"?!!!

xpost

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:21 (twenty-two years ago)

How 'bout 'Bootylicious' slowed down about 50 times. So that Beyonce sounded like some evil Aphex Twin come to daddy kind of shit. I think there is more painful Floyd than Dark Side.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:24 (twenty-two years ago)

Or the Bootylicious/Smells Like Teen Spirit Re mix?

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:25 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha Jaromil, suckas who hate on Dark Side need to get a whiff of The Division Bell, boy howdy

nate detritus (natedetritus), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 06:58 (twenty-two years ago)

"who let the dogs out?"
bowie's version of "god only knows"
EVERY FUCKING GRATEFUL DEAD BOOTLEG EVER RECORDED

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:11 (twenty-two years ago)

Hangin' Tough, NKOTB: 'We're rrrough!"

scottontharox (scottkundla), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:11 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno, probably something by merzbow, or milkshake.

todd swiss (eliti), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Or something by a thirteen year old, huh todd?

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i wouldnt be surprised if i met you in hell as my torturer.
no exit was true!

todd swiss (eliti), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:22 (twenty-two years ago)

NO.

I'd have to die right now, or before February 14, 2005 for that to end up that way.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:26 (twenty-two years ago)

aja is, as always, the voice of reason hereabouts.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:27 (twenty-two years ago)

amazing.

todd swiss (eliti), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:27 (twenty-two years ago)

Am I?

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:28 (twenty-two years ago)

except for not liking at least one no doubt album ,,,

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:30 (twenty-two years ago)

You do?

That is...

Well?

How can you stand Gwen Stephanie's voice????

HOW?????!!!!

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:31 (twenty-two years ago)

wait. you were 13. and your birthday was the 14th. that means you are not 13 any more, you are 14. (well you are really 55 but..)

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:32 (twenty-two years ago)

No.

I'm still thirteen. I turned thirteen on the 14th.

I was born in 91. Do the math if you don't think it's right.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:33 (twenty-two years ago)

you said you were 13. now you are magically 13 again.

Orbit (Orbit), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:35 (twenty-two years ago)

no, aja's math is right ... she turned 13 on feb. 14, 2004 (i.e., this past saturday).

i don't find gwen stefani's voice all that annoying, at least not anymore ... i like return of saturn and rock steady (though i didn't like tragic kingdom, esp. that annoying "just a girl" song).

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:35 (twenty-two years ago)

When did I say I was thirteen?

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Happy birthday. shouldn't you be in bed little one?

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:38 (twenty-two years ago)

I have this week off from school.

Isn't it wonderful.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:39 (twenty-two years ago)

THE WHOLE WEEK?!? omgwtf

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:40 (twenty-two years ago)

are the nuns on strike or something?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep.

I'll be playing guitar and bugging you every so often

are the nuns on strike or something?

Nope.

I go to a Catholic year round school

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I have the week off, too. I read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The best fucking book ever.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:41 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't really like that book.

I like this book about a girl who thinks she's part African American. Her mom is a heroin attic and I think it's her drug dealer who she has her kid call dad. The girl also lives with these other African Americans. She also is supposed to have a great singing voice

In the end, she gets pregnate at 16 and finds her mom. Stays with her mom untill she dies. I don't think she finds out who the father of her child is.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:45 (twenty-two years ago)

that's a pretty heavy book for a 13-year old to be reading.

and i liked charlie and the great glass elevator better than the chocolate factory book.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:47 (twenty-two years ago)

It is recomended for 14 and up, but it sounded so interesting, I wanted to read it. I finished it in 3 days.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:49 (twenty-two years ago)

I also read that book when I was 12

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:51 (twenty-two years ago)

OK. Whatever. But it's really good. And now I know where Veruca Salt got their name. what's your pregnancy, death and black people book called. maybe i know it.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:52 (twenty-two years ago)

do you think they'd play "floaty" in hell?

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:52 (twenty-two years ago)

Born Blue

do you think they'd play "floaty" in hell?

OMG!!

I'm listening to Foo Fighters now and just skipped over that one. My cousin thought it might be about Hell for some reason.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:54 (twenty-two years ago)

floating on hot lava or hellfire, or something.

Eisbär (llamasfur), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:55 (twenty-two years ago)

i dunno. i don't know very much about music. i have dial-up internet. ok. i know a lot about music for someone with dial-up. what is 'floaty'?

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:55 (twenty-two years ago)

a song

You'd have to hear it to understand

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:56 (twenty-two years ago)

floating on hot lava or hellfire, or something.

I think she's referring to the line

"On the ground
We come back down."

Gives you the idea they're going below ground

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 07:58 (twenty-two years ago)

I think 'Everlong' is the only song by the Foo that i like. And i don't even know if i like it any more. boo.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:06 (twenty-two years ago)

What kind of music do you like?

Have you hear "Weenie Beenie"? Just like punk, with a little pop some where in there.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:08 (twenty-two years ago)

all sorts...what the hell is weenie beenie.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:11 (twenty-two years ago)

A song!!!

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:11 (twenty-two years ago)

You've only heard their songs on the radio?

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:14 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes that is true. Is Weenie Beenis a Foo song?

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Yep.

Short and punk.

On the first album.

Mainly a Dave Grohl song.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:21 (twenty-two years ago)

Let me think back...I think there may have been a time when I liked them...not enough to buy an album...did you ever notice how Dave became less sarcastic after he left Nirvana and slowly became more relaxed and well-adjusted. I guess Kurt had that effect on people.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:24 (twenty-two years ago)

I don't know.

He's still sarcastic.

I think he drinks more now though. And I think it's heavy liquor too.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:27 (twenty-two years ago)

OK. Take care. Goodnight Computerpeople. Rock on. But quietly.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:29 (twenty-two years ago)

Aww.

Fine. Have your precious sleep.

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 08:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Either Europe's "The Final Countdown" or Half Japanese's debut.

(Hmmm...Musing the ramifications of "Stairway To Heaven" making Satan's playlist. Or would it be banned?)

(I happen to like "Stairway" - I was just speculating on a hypothesis)

Myonga Von Bontee, Tuesday, 17 February 2004 09:40 (twenty-two years ago)

Jay-Z

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 14:13 (twenty-two years ago)

I think any album played over and over again would gradually become hellish, (with the possible exception of Alex's choice, of course).

Sym (shmuel), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:02 (twenty-two years ago)

Darn tootin'.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:07 (twenty-two years ago)

Mogwai to thread.

mzui, Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:11 (twenty-two years ago)

But I was disagreeing with you about Jay-Z, Alex.

Sym (shmuel), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:17 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, whatever.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:19 (twenty-two years ago)

You're getting mellow, dude.

Sym (shmuel), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:20 (twenty-two years ago)

Shouting about how much I think Jay-Z is a talentless ass clown is an excercise in abject futility. (but you know I'm right).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:23 (twenty-two years ago)

I would find The Cranberries a particularly hellish soundtrack for perpetuity.

Etta Wu, Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:25 (twenty-two years ago)

Actually....who sang that song "I love you, always and ever"....she sounds like Snow White after a whippet of helium? THAT would be a thousand times worse than fuckin' Jay-Z (ps: I love the hook of "Big Pimpin'", but that has more to do with Timbaland than his Jigganess).

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:27 (twenty-two years ago)

this one for sure. if i heard it twice in a row i would go mad:

There's two things I know for sure
she was sent here from heaven,
and she's daddy's little girl.
as I drop to my knees by her bed at night,
she talks to jesus, and I close my eyes.
And I thank God for all of the joy in
my life, But most of all, for...

Butterfly Kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"Walk beside the pony
daddy, it's my first ride."
"I know the cake looks funny,
daddy, but I sure tried."
Oh, with all that I've done wrong,
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning,
And butterfly kisses at night.

Sweet sixteen Today,
She's looking like her mamma
a little more every day.
One part woman, the other part girl.
To purfume and makeup,
from ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out in a great
big world. But I remember...

Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair.
"You know how much I love you daddy,
But if you don't mind,
I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time."
With all that I've done wrong,
I must have done something right.
To deserve her love every morning,
And butterfly kisses at night.

All the prcious time
Like the wind, when the years go by
precious butterfly
Spread your wings and fly

She'll change her name today.
She'll make a promise,
and I'll give her away.
Standing in the bride room
just staring at her,
she asked me what I'm thinking,
and I said "I'm not sure,
I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl."
Then she leaned over...and gave me...

Butterfly kisses, with her mama there
Sticking little white flowers all up in her hair
"Walk me down the aisle daddy, it's just
about time"
"Does my wedding gown look pretty
daddy?" "Daddy don't cry"
With all that I've done wrong,
I must have done something right
To deserve her love every morning,
and butterfly kisses
I couldn't ask god for more, man, this is
what love is
I know I've gotta let her go, but I'll always
remember
Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses...

scott seward (scott seward), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:28 (twenty-two years ago)

Yeah, that'd get to me too.

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:31 (twenty-two years ago)

HAHAHAHA that forever and ever song
My dinky Casio keyboard had a button that would play an instrumental version of that song, and me and my siblings would dance around like gay muppets. Happy days.

Sym (shmuel), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 00:39 (twenty-two years ago)

Do you have a problem with gay muppets, sym. Some of my best friends are gay muppets. And they happen to be normal, well-adjusted people just like you and me. We all knew you were a hip-hop fan and a racist, but a muppetaphobe -- that's where I draw line, dear sir.

Jaromil (Jaromil), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 04:02 (twenty-two years ago)

hahaha. I going to report you to CAMP. Coalition Against Muppet Discrimination And see how you like that...

Jaromil (Jaromil), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 04:09 (twenty-two years ago)

A 45 of "Bop" by Dan Seals.

jazz odysseus, Wednesday, 18 February 2004 04:10 (twenty-two years ago)

"ONNNEE! TWOOOO! THREEEE!
ONEEEE! TWOOOO! THREEEE!
OOONNE! TWOOO! THREEE!

Stumbing down the alleyway, walking a vulture...
OR IS THE VULTURE...WALKING YOU?!"

...and so on, for eternity.
