Are there more of them coming to ILM or are they just emboldened to ask more questions?

Googlers are CLASSIC TIMES TEN obviously so I'm not suggesting we do anything about it.

haven't you all got better things to do than bitch all day? i'm only expressing my opinion here but i don't think you should be so negative and hateful about my favourite band.

stevem (blueski), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:23 (twenty-two years ago)

Aja (aja), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:24 (twenty-two years ago)

DO U HAVE PHARELL'S EAMIL ADDRESS, PLEASE EMAIL ME PRAHRREL

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

they do seem more frequent lately. i figured it was sunspots or something.

the number of them who somehow believe they are addressing their fave is pretty alarming.

g--ff (gcannon), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:28 (twenty-two years ago)

I'm sure it has to do with ILM directly referencing highly Google-able things, like band names.

dean! (deangulberry), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:29 (twenty-two years ago)

(i mean i could see the cream of the googler crop being printed as a harper's 'reading' or some other pop-hating thing)

g--ff (gcannon), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:30 (twenty-two years ago)

I came here to google, I stayed for... hang on, what was it again...?

ENRQ (Enrique), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:31 (twenty-two years ago)

I remember when we switched from Greenspun to ilxor.com we were wondering if our then-high Google ranking would plummet some. This fear is clearly unfounded.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Yes I remember it well Enrique - did Godard ever send you his EMALI ADDRES?

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:33 (twenty-two years ago)

no one should feel the need to stay on our account.

strongo hulkington (dubplatestyle), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 17:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Surely made up just to annoy Alex in NYC:

I like the one-time Googlers best. I think if the person isn't logged in, then they shouldn't get any of the links to the rest of ILX. Then they'll just post to one thread, and it will be more amusing to me. They are here to amuse me, yes. There, I said it.

dave225 (Dave225), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I take that all back after seeing the 80's punk thread. Post away, Googlers.

dave225 (Dave225), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:36 (twenty-two years ago)

How does one spot a googler from 20 paces?

Barry Bruner (Barry Bruner), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 18:55 (twenty-two years ago)

remember when we switched from Greenspun to ilxor.com we were wondering if our then-high Google ranking would plummet some. This fear is clearly unfounded.

Might the high rating of ilxor.com have something to do with the way Google ranks sights according to the amount of links it receives from other sites? And, not only this; gives a higher ranking based in the linking sites Google ranking.

From the start every ILM and ILE message on Greenspun was pointed to ilxor, and this must have boosted the ranking considerably. Not to mention the links from "Tom Ewing's network of music sites", and other bloggers. We should have known!

Oh, more Googlers please.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Tuesday, 17 February 2004 19:15 (twenty-two years ago)

Where have they all gone?

adam. (nordicskilla), Friday, 17 September 2004 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)

The mad ones, I mean.

adam. (nordicskilla), Friday, 17 September 2004 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)

And the kids. Oh, the kids.

adam. (nordicskilla), Friday, 17 September 2004 04:21 (twenty-one years ago)
