Anyone know what happened to Amanda Root of "Fluffy"?

Much derided band (please don't all mock at once). But I thought the singer and writer Root was talented. Did she go on to do anything else musically?

She's fronting a crappy metal band called Harlow, who had their own TV show on VH-1 a couple of years ago. (There were a couple of other bands on, too, but as far as I was concerned, the show was about Harlow—specifically, their guitarist, who's now left the band.)

Harlow were not crappy, actually. And neither were Fluffy.

Fluffy were okay, but I didn't like Harlow much. Though, as I implied above, the guitarist (Rachel?) was smokin' hot.

I've got a couiple of Fluffy singles - hypersonic and husband, and I really liked them. They were kind of like the kiddypunk slits.

Same Fluffy who wrote "I Wanna Be Your Lush"? Cause they were kinda wicked.

Yep, Jeanne, one and the same. They had a five-song live EP and an album with a black cat on the cover, both absolutely worth owning (and absolutely a lot catchier and more fun and harder rocking than most riot grrrl music, too.)

Round-up: Amanda's surname was/is Rootes. Harlow were on a VH1 Real World-style show called "Bands on the run". I don't think they won. The other long-serving Fluffy members, Angie and Bridget, had another girl / punk band called Darling. Helen, who replaced Pandora on bass, has been in a bunch of bands. And Pandora is going to be in Channel 4's drama thing later this year called "NY-LON". How do I know this? Because I'm in The Abstainers (forgive the link?) where Pandora also plays bass. We're not all girls, and it's not punk.

"I was partying with them and just shitfaced - up in the front row getting into it when I thought, 'wait a minute.. I HATE Harlow..'

Brilliant answers; cheers. I've just been reading the Harlow website! Sorry about the misspelling - no wonder I couldn't find her on the net. Stupid, because I've got Black Eye (playing it now, though it's not really a CD to play through in one).

I discovered Fluffy when we went to some girl's flat after the pub and she had an all-over-the-place collection: Bob Marley, Jewel, and then, bang, she put on this "I Wanna Be Your Lush", and we were trashing the place, playing it again and again, collapse-dancing; it was catnip. Fluffy were a beer band, I think. Drink eight pints, slam it on, and all is revealed.

I've got a video of Fluffy doing "Nothing" on TOTP. Rootes is almost frightening.
