I'm a student who studies fashion design, now I'm thinking about having a collection about 00's punk, so can you please tell me more about the 00's punk music, culture and attitude?

They're all chubby blonde frat boys who drink Grolsch by the gallon and get off on date-rape fantasies, erotic memories of their 'initiation' and Howard Stern. They wear khakis, pink oxfords that they swear are 'Nantucked Red' and, underneath, reproductions of the 'College' shirt from animal house. They use the word Party as Noun, Adjective and Verb (i.e. "I partied at a frat party last night, and there was mad party fun there!), >50 times every waking cycle. They 'dig' like, um, totally rockin punk like Blink 182 and Good Charlotte (and you know, some of the older stuff like 'Jake') but they can't 'swing' / 'get their rocks off' that 'really harsh' shit like the "Kennedys"

I am punk fucking rawk in my business casual garb, especially because I fight the man by refusing to wear button-down, collared shirts underneath my sweaters.

You know its really sad. I remember being 12 or 13 and seeing this documentary on PBS about the history of punk and it was the coolest thing ever to me (next to the doc about hip-hop made by the same people). The Velvet Underground were cool and arty and mysterious. The Ramones were so UGLY. The guy from the Talking Heads was a total nerd and his hands bleed sometimes when he played the guitar. "Johnny Hit and Run Paulene" was bad ass and about how raping people is bad. Something about DIY or something.

Punk died in the late 70s when all these rules of proper bahavior started coming out.
