can't think of much to say about it ("great, it's an alt-country blueprint ii") but someone must, please, anyone

meta bit: is it me or are there almost no threads about particular bits of new music lately? or is it just me thinking that there used to be a lot more?

oh, I forgot that I just bought this, like, an hour ago.

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 16:13 (twenty-two years ago)

yeah, but what do YOU think?

RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 16:20 (twenty-two years ago)

I agree with my inverted evil twin at all times.

Merge package arrived last night (w/ bonus 7", postcards, poster!). First listen, from other room, and not knowing song titles - very nice. I liked the instrumentals, the lusher sound (though _Is a Woman_ is good in its own right), and the vocals. Looking forward to further listens.

i think after the mad year-end rush to listen to and rate a year's worth of music ppl generally prefer to pause for breath in Jan/Feb, wallow in poll results and awards nominations, and indulge in a bit of nostalgia (or 're-evaluation' if you prefer). otherwise we'd just get a headache.

zebedee (zebedee), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 19:03 (twenty-two years ago)

New music wot is grebt = Necks, Kanye West, lambchop. Not bought anything else from this year yet.

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 19:10 (twenty-two years ago)

The fuckin' Liars album is pretty fuckin' great, too.

Tiny Fuckin' Robot, Wednesday, 18 February 2004 19:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Are you really a Tiny Fuckin' Robot? What kind of person wants a Tint Fuckin' Robot?

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 19:17 (twenty-two years ago)

Tiny? Tint? I'LL SMASH YER FUCKEN ANKLES IN!

Sick Nouthall (Nick Southall), Wednesday, 18 February 2004 19:18 (twenty-two years ago)

i like the way the two album titles are talking to each other

robin (robin), Thursday, 19 February 2004 06:58 (twenty-two years ago)

It's a very good double album, and any potential monotony is broken by the instrumentals, which are terrific.

abegrand, Thursday, 19 February 2004 07:43 (twenty-two years ago)

Only listened to it once so far, seemed pretty good but had to keep reminding myself that it was Lambchop not the Tindersticks.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 19 February 2004 10:00 (twenty-two years ago)

Loving the both of 'em, no doubt. Click on "interviews" for, er, an interview I did with Kurt < /trumpet>.
