Organized Noise (produce for Outkast, Goodie Mob) - why aren't they seen as production greats?

I was listening to Goodie Mob's "Still Standing" today, and when you listen hard, the beats are really quite intricate, beautifully programmed. I feel they've never got the props they deserve. Can anyone say why, or point out why they aren't seen as especially innovative?

why does no one ever seem to remember they produced "waterfalls", making them probably the most "important" producers of the 90s?

they aren't?

yeah oops is right are there even any other 'name' south producers who dont rap themselves (which disqualifies lil jon, mannie fresh, etc)

Yeah I think Organized Noise have a pretty decent rep actually given they don't pimp themselves celebrity-wise. I think their two Ludacris joints ("Game Got Switched" and "Saturday") are probably their finest moments though.

Ego Trip has them as #9 amongst all producers.

I thinks it's mainly just lack of hits compared to the Neptunes & Co. Their big hits were "Waterfall" which is almost 10 years old now, and the Outkast singles - in which their imput has been overshadowed by Andre and Big Boi.

Still Standing is wonderful. The bits of guitar jangle are a great touch, esp the ringing harmonics in "Black Ice". I like when they're mixed with the organ.

For you Mullygrubber, anything:

Organized Noise - Search & Destroy

Perhaps they should get a bit more recognition but their style isn't as recognizable as say a Mannie Fresh whose sound sort of became the style the south could call its own. You know, the shit you just have to turn up cause it sounds so crisp and sparkly and in your face. Organized Noise didn't really have that going.
