first play, i really missed El-P's production.

I heard this was really, really fucking bad. I'm going to download it tomorrow, I think, but all around, I've heard it was just pure ass. I'm excited about the Cannibal Ox + Breeze Brewin bonus cut and the MF Doom collab though. And the beats SHOULD be solid, RJD2, Cryptic One and MAdlib (although I don't like the single).

i'm liking it, though he's repeating rhymes all through. its good though. maybe great.

The first single was brilliant - up there with the best of Cann Ox. He's got great delivery. Not sure about the album yet, though - on first listen, it really began to drag for me. I'l come back to it.

I don't mind this track - didn't really jump out at me but is a grower.

The new Def Jux III compilation is almost uniformly mediocre. I knew 2003 was a weak year for the label, but if this is the standard of things to come, they've fallen way, way off.

two months pass...
The album is really nice. It's more, well, easy listening than Cold Vein, but some beautiful moments...the Doom collaboration is cute.

I am really, really tired of people accusing artists of falling off 2 years after they release a classic album...give a dude a chance.

That said, Def Jux 3 DOES suck ass. This Vast Aire album is pretty good, but nowhere near Cold Vein.

But damn, Vast Aire is still great...

I've kind of given up on him. He seems to have turned his back on his cerebral side, instead opting for mediocrity and club-ism. Let me know if he gets good again.
