Should I go see Slipknot?

A buddy at work got a buncha tickets, and almost all of the folks I work with (who I like, but am not really too social with outside of work for smug, pretentious reasons all my own) are going...

I don't really care for Slipknot one way or the other, but Fear Factory and Chimaira are also playing. I still haven't heard Fear Factory (though they've been recommended to me many times) and the one Chimaira song I heard, I did like...

is there any reason I should go? I'm pretty sure it'd be free or pretty darn close to free (they're radio station tickets)

Go, a couple of friends of mine went to see them a couple of years ago and even after an hour long tube ride, they were goggle eyed with the intensity of it.

Slipknot are great live. Also, I got an advance copy of the new Fear Factory album, and it's the best thing they've done since Concrete, the "lost" album where they were ripping off (and improving on) Godflesh. Also, Chimaira used to suck, but they've gotten a lot better on their most recent album. This is a bill worth checking out, no doubt.

A bold claim.

Check it out. It's a total Streetcleaner cop, only faster and (sometimes, not all the time) better.

i'd go.
if they were paying ME and giving me free booze.
that's it, though.

I thought Fear Factory broke up! Well anyway, Demanufacture was a cool album. Go to the show if its free, certainly.

>I thought Fear Factory broke up!

They did. Now they're back, without the guitarist. Don't know why they didn't just call it "firing the guitar player" instead of "breaking up."

Oh.

Go!

Saw Slipknot and they were very entertaining - just don't sit down when ordered! (That's an order!)

Seen FF a few times with their old line up, very very good.

Saw Chimaira a few weeks ago, awesome but went on too long which won't be a problem as they're support.

Go!
