How 'revealed' could it be? the contact email on the sleeve reads "eric@thealarm.co.uk" or whatever...

like i ever checked the sleeve ! not even heard the record to be honest .. and now i know i wont. tis not an age issue., but a Crap Music issue .. and the Alarm were always way off my radar ..

I don't understand it.

They make a record and get their fanbase to buy it.

So why the pseudonym?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 20 February 2004 10:12 (twenty-two years ago)

BECAUSE THEY'VE PROVEN THAT PEOPLE BUY MUSIC BASED ON IMAGE RATHER THAN ON TALENT.

Except, that means that the song isn't any good, by their logic.

Hmmmm.

Dudey from The Alarm is the most arrogant person I've ever spoken to in music, anyway.

I will be seeing him perform at an awards ceremony tonight. It will be shitehouse.

I think the point they're making is rather that music is playlisted or whatever due to image - it's radio producers who make decisions based on image, and that if the public get a chance to hear it, then crappy 'punk' records can still sell like hot dogshit pies. 4,000 copies - that'll put it up 'em.

They don't like it up 'em.

The record I saw was a seven inch single, the A side was called "45 rpm", so at first I thought it had no title. I haven't heared it at all. What's it like? And didn't Elvis Costello have a 7" single recently called 45rpm?

mark grout (mark grout), Friday, 20 February 2004 11:02 (twenty-two years ago)

What's it like? Err, like a Bruce Springsteen wannabe fronting the Skids. The chorus is '45 RPM/Keep on rockin'/to the end' or somesuch guff. It's awful. You really want to hear it? Go here.
