Appalling really that we have seeming nostalgia [however ironic it may be for some people; they're almost worse] for such a weedy, crap summer single... from less than 8 years ago, too. This, combined with the obsession it seems many have with allowing an irritating TV genre to cross-polinate into other areas... the man Moyles and his cretinous 'Comedy' Dave symbolise so much that is just plain wrong in our culture.
I did think Scott Mills was preferable to Wes; a bit less of the omnipresent, attention-seeking attitude that Wes conveys throughout his shows. SM was hardly particularly great, but it was a pleasant change to have someone more unobtrusive in style. However... one had to sigh when he mimicked the same pronunciation of 'B*u*sted' that Wes also does.
Overall: the Jamelia single was really quite something... I focused on the music rather than lyrics when listening today. Rather evocative; definitely a step up from more run of the mill r&b. Nicely uncertain, hovering quality about its background sound.
