ILXORs who get DISSED on liner notes and songs

We had a brilliant cameo here from Oliver Wang who mentioned being dissed by People Under The Stairs, Northern State, and I forget who else. Has anyone else here had that amazing distinction?

would non-inclusion count as a dis?

hstencil, Friday, 20 February 2004 23:30 (twenty-two years ago)

Define "non inclusion", otherwise, we'd have a pretty big list. :)

You mean, formerly promised liner notes inclusion but removed at the last minute?

donut bitch (donut), Friday, 20 February 2004 23:31 (twenty-two years ago)

nope. Um, say you had a friend who played in a band, but got kicked out before they recorded anything, and then wasn't thanked later? Would that count?

hstencil, Friday, 20 February 2004 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

this is all hypothetical, of course.

hstencil, Friday, 20 February 2004 23:32 (twenty-two years ago)

Well, if the friend in question didn't "help" in the making of the album (i.e. kicked out before recording), and wasn't insulted in the liner notes nor songs, then I guess not.

But oh hell, sounds like an interesting story. Shoot.

I got called out on "Rubber Soul".

i had a falling out with my best friend who happened to be in a medium sized indie band back in 1994. my name is clearly crossed out in the liner notes. ha ha. actually that story has made me sad. he got pissed because i did some hard drugs at a party. it was an emo sort of night.

jimmy the doomed saint, Friday, 20 February 2004 23:41 (twenty-two years ago)

(sigh. i should phone but i think it would still be 'weird'. he wrote a song about that night. it was a baaaaaaad night. moderator could you delete the above post?).

emo kids have a hard time with that kind of thing. Where is the emo/straight edge Venn diagram I so desperately need?

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Friday, 20 February 2004 23:54 (twenty-two years ago)

i felt like the 'darling nikki' of emo at that time. i've obscured year, etc because i really don't want anyone to pick up on that thing. wow. thinking about him not being my friend still makes me sad. : - (

As someone who proudly sports wool and sheepskin products, those Rave Unto The Joy Fantastic liner notes cut to the fucking bone.

I played keys for this band, who hoofed me out in a manner I was less than pleased w/at thee time. Before They hoofed me, I recorded some tracks for one of their songs at a studio. Apparently the band's album eventually came out, though I've never seen a copy anywhere, so I don't know it I'm credited on the album, or even on it, I mean they might have cut new keyboard tracks to replace mine. That's pretty lame, I know, but it's the best I can do, unless you count bands who put "fuck all you haterz" or suchlike on their album covers, and that only counts if i hate the band, which I don't usually.
