Because I can't decide...

they are both amazing imo. I'll give Palmcorder the slight edge

Somehow I expected this topic to be more popular...

I haven't heard the Blonde Redhead song, so the Mountain Goats song wins by a mile.

That's what I was going to say.

Haven't heard the Blonde Redhead song, didn't even know it was out. So - they're on 4AD too now eh? Any idea who produced the new stuff?

NickB (NickB), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 15:59 (twenty-two years ago)

are the mountain goats well known around these parts?

i just heard their new one playing in the store and it sounded ok/good. i just picked up their Tallahassee cd over lunch break today. didn't know they had much of ANY kind of following...

If by these parts you mean ILM, then yes. J0hn D. posts here sometimes.

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:23 (twenty-two years ago)

yes, i do.

no shit.

AaronK (AaronK), Tuesday, 24 February 2004 19:25 (twenty-two years ago)

in any event, 4AD has definitely picked up the slack of the last few years with both these records

my friend, and constant companion (in a heterosexual context) has been on a mountain goats binge lately. The new one doesn't seem all that strong to me, but he only plays a few choice songs off it (claiming they're all about meth.)

Tallahassee is good, and the earlier, folkier stuff is good when the lyrics aren't icky.

three weeks pass...
The Dean casts his vote. (For the album, but still...)
