I don't think there are bands like FYC anymore.

Pop but sophisticated and innovative, mainstream but a seamlessly assimilating wide range of non-mainstream. Not appearing naff because of their desire to be a pop band, not appearing 'not-pop' because of their desire to be something else too.

Some of their tunes may have aged badly but Johnny Come Home is still an astonishing snapshot of a collision of styles moving across each other. The last great new pop record.
