c or d - seeing a band out of spite

i almost did the other night. i wanted to rub it in my roommate's face that i got to see this band she likes (and i live to make fun of) for free. but it soon occurred to me nothing was worth having to endur even 5 unnecessary seconds of life of agony.

anyone done something like this¿

I went to see the Pernice Brothers 'cause my ex-boyfriend really liked 'em and he couldn't go, but it backfired because I really like 'em and I just ended up crying after the show and I couldn't listen to them for a long time afterward. Dammit.

There's a wonderful article on The Swell Maps on Perfect Sound Forever, where the writer is pleased about being able to put one over Thurston Moore by seeing aforementioned band.
