my post arrives after i leave for the office. therefore my arrival at home each day is a rollercoaster of emotions as to whether i have received new stuff to listen to. there are several very nice goodies supposedly on their way.
its almost to exciting at times. place your bets folks. will today be a Good'Un or another b*stard statistic for lost parcels for the Royal (haha) Post Office.

I have no rollercoaster of emotions per se but I often get pleasant surprises.

oh that last moments of driving up my drive are a wonderful highs .. often followed by that usual disappointment as i realise some b*stard in E1 has lifted another parcel en route to ireallylovemusic (i have lost count of lost items now ..)

It amazes me how much of a postcode (sorry, pun unavoidable) lottery the postal service seems to be - I've been ordering loads of stuff over the internet for years now and I think I could count the number of items that have gone missing in the post on my fingers.

weirdly .. stuff i order never goes missing. stuff that is sent for reviewing from a certain area of the country (shall we say London for ease) seems to be fraught with problems.
subsequently on PR has stopped sending stuff. nice result. the stuff i am 'expecting' though is far too fucking good for some mucker to lift and ebay ..

I've got a mate who lives in Brighton who apparently loses loads of stuff that's sent to him.

once your name is spotted i reckon its a dead end. its just too easy/tempting to lift a cd parcel aint it.
what i dont like is that the PR's may begin to suspect foul play on my side.
its not easy getting to the position i have and then finding it all slip away cos of the Royal (ho ho) Post Office. oh .. and as for filing a complaint .. hahahaa. yeah. lets move on from that shall we ..

Do you reckon there's a connection with having a business name (e.g. "I Really Love Music") on the enevelope / package?

That would probably make sense since I imagine there would be far more likelihood of promo items etc. being sent unsolicited (so possibly more valuable and definitely less likely to be missed) to a business - plus nicking from a business / organisation is often seen as less reprehensible than nicking from an individual.

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Wednesday, 25 February 2004 17:15 (twenty-two years ago)

thats an interesting point - one that has indeed crossed my mind .. but i dont blieve that the PR's actually put ireallylovemusic, they are addressed to me personally. so i suspect that someone has connected my address to the website and realised its a route to new sounds so whenever these parcels pass through certain sections of the system .. etc etc

I'm glad no-one seems to have connected my address with, say, regularly spending far too much money buying music on the internet, with potentially similar effects!

i thought this was going to be about losing yr virginity instead its about parcels in the post.

no wonder i am getting bored of ilx!

What if we made it about losing your virginity in the post?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 26 February 2004 11:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Scary thing is if it could be reclaimed.
