Where to Play in C'ville

Howdy readers, we're a DC band called The Shooters. We do twangy rock and roll- imagine Chris Isaak on speed. We would absolutely love to start building bridges and playing out down in Charlottesville. We hear it's a great scene. But we have absolutely no idea where to start! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Google "Cville Weekly" and "The Hook"
Those are the free weekly papers, and they have music listings and stuff.

I don't leave my apartment but for work/school or I could help you more.

Outback Lodge, Gravity Lounge, and Tokyo Rose are likely places. Starr Hill's probably the major venue right now, but it might be tough to get booked there. It's a good scene, but don't believe the hype.

Tokyo Rose was always one of my favorite places to play in VA. It's a good size room, the sound guys are laidback and hands-off but everything sounds good, and you get a discount at the Japanese restaurant upstairs. From what I've heard, though, booking has gotten harder to arrange there.
