or are they too indie?

k (blue), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:36 (twenty-two years ago)

Argh, I just missed them in Dresden! I only know their 1st album. Have they evolved since then?

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:39 (twenty-two years ago)

absolutely. though lyrically things haven't cheered up that much.

k (blue), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:43 (twenty-two years ago)

In a more Godmachine vein, I presume?

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:47 (twenty-two years ago)

no, not really. except for 2 songs on the album.

k (blue), Thursday, 26 February 2004 13:55 (twenty-two years ago)

So still very acoustic? Actually, I only know their 2nd album, Infinite Circle, which I found good at the time, but a bit boring in the long run. Still, I'm curious to hear their new one.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:00 (twenty-two years ago)

are you living in dresden?

k (blue), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:02 (twenty-two years ago)

recently i wrote some words on them in my blog. i like them. without ever having consciously listened to godmachine.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:46 (twenty-two years ago)

No, I just spent the week-end there. Found it surprisingly cool.
Godmachine's second and final album, One Last Laugh... is probably my favorite album of the 90s, def. worth checking out.

Baaderist (Fabfunk), Thursday, 26 February 2004 14:52 (twenty-two years ago)

alex, you should try to see them in frankfurt.

baaderist, i could send you a minidisk with some songs of their new album and some of their live-album, if you like.

k (blue), Thursday, 26 February 2004 15:01 (twenty-two years ago)

I really need to follow Sophia more than I have done, seeing how much I adored the God Machine. It's just good to know Robin's out there still doing his thing, he's a fine feller.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Thursday, 26 February 2004 17:19 (twenty-two years ago)

Hey, thanks for the offer K! I'll first look around to see if I can find the album, if not I might take up your very kind offer.

two years pass...
New album streaming on Luisterpaal: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/speler/luisterpaal/30887979

It seems like he's slowly moving back to the God Machine sound....

is anyone anticipating the new Baaderonixx? (baaderonixx), Friday, 27 October 2006 14:06 (nineteen years ago)

Well I don't blame him for wanting to have made such a dramatic break in the first place -- not only did he lose one of his best friends to such a freak circumstance but by his own admission he felt he was in a bad headspace and wanted to shift dramatically. If he's returning to it, it's with years more experience to reconsider.

I still kick myself I don't have the interview with him I did in 1993. Lost forever now.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Friday, 27 October 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

New album is pretty good.

Brigadier Lethbridge-Pfunkboy (Kerr), Friday, 27 October 2006 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

I have to admit that, despite all the right elements seeming to be there, I'm not really feeling this so far...

is anyone anticipating the new Baaderonixx? (baaderonixx), Friday, 27 October 2006 14:28 (nineteen years ago)

i went to that concert two years ago k.! according to that streaming link upthread he is hardly moving back to the god machine sound, baaderonixx. lots of slow sad ballads. autumn music. the last song is quite noisy but still. after one listen i'd say that i still prefer people are seasons. but anyways it's nice that he is back, i like to listen to his voice.

alex in mainhattan (alex63), Friday, 27 October 2006 17:34 (nineteen years ago)

one year passes...

what are these guys up to? I feel it's time for me to seriously catch up with them/him

baaderonixx, Thursday, 14 August 2008 15:17 (seventeen years ago)

No idea, i forgot to buy the last album.

Herman G. Neuname, Thursday, 14 August 2008 19:20 (seventeen years ago)

This guy did a runner from the studio I was working at and owes me £100, so fuck him.

Matt #2, Thursday, 14 August 2008 19:34 (seventeen years ago)

really????

baaderonixx, Thursday, 14 August 2008 19:37 (seventeen years ago)

Really! Although it was a few years ago, so whatever. Still, that's a couple of Dust To Digital box sets worth if you want to look at it that way.

Matt #2, Friday, 15 August 2008 12:10 (seventeen years ago)

eight months pass...

Really liking new album!

StanM, Wednesday, 18 May 2016 17:00 (nine years ago)

don't think anyone cares about this guy(s) outside of Benelux but new album is great, despite some borderline-MOR moments.

licorice oratorio (baaderonixx), Friday, 20 May 2016 09:39 (nine years ago)

I should check in again.
