Would anyone who went to primavera care to provide a quick report? I'm thinking about going next year (pending a line-up along similar lines to this year's).

it's great: everything goes down in a national park of Catalan architecture, the main auditorium is a mock up of a 19th c Town square, it kicks off about 7-ish each day so you get to mooch around barcelona without distraction during daylight hours, can't recommend it enough. Bill always seems to be great as well, good mix.

cw (cww), Wednesday, 8 September 2004 10:50 (twenty-one years ago)

That is precisely the kind of answer I was hoping for. Thanks.

eh, this year the main stage was in the parking lot...huge 20,000-people-strong stage, that is...pixies, franz ferdinand, liars, wilco, you get the idea

the town square stage is the "middle-sized" stage, the most comfy one, obviously, had your 2manydjs/miss kittin/dizzee/james chance/dominique a, etc.

there are also three smaller stages...one was xiuxiu/matmos kinda stuff, the other one !!!/devendra banhart/james murphy djing, and the other one cristian vogel/dj rupture/ascii disko

GET TO BARCELONA A FEW DAYS IN ADVANCE IF YOU WANNA LOOK AROUND THE CITY, can't stress this enough

other than that, best damn festival i've been to...lineup was absolutely stellar (you can still check it out at www.primaverasound.com) and I'd sell my left big toe to go again

twenty years pass...

I'm going this week but only for the first two days. Last went in 2019. The line-up didn't actually compel me too much and as usual there are some annoying clashes or very late night/early morning set times so going for the city break as much as the festival. But went through the schedule and picked these out:

Thursday 5 June

1915: Beabadoobee
1945: Cassandra Jenkins
2100: DJ Python
2155: Magdalena Bay
2305: Barker
2330: Jamie XX
0115: Charli XCX
0235: Sabres Of Paradise (unlikely tbh)

Friday 6 June
1935: Wolf Alice
2045: HAIM
2200: Stereolab or Beach House
2320: TV On The Radio
