scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw C/Kovenant open for Amorphis and Moonspell years ago. They weren't very good.

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:46 (twenty-one years ago)

i never really listened to the dutch covenant. only the nowegian covenant and the swedish covenant.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:51 (twenty-one years ago)

There's a Dutch Covenant too (rock band?).

The metal Covenant/Kovenant is dud dud dud BTW.

Siegbran (eofor), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:52 (twenty-one years ago)

haha, xpost. I liked the "Call The Ships To Port" single of the EBM Covenant quite a lot, although the goofiness is undeniable.

Siegbran (eofor), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Covenant-Bullet (Ellen Allien Remix) is a must.

That's all I know on the subject.

Ronan (Ronan), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Siegbran, i'm shocked. S.E.T.I. didn't make your top ten.:)

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 27 February 2004 14:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Where is the DEAD STARS STILL BURN DEAD STILL STARS BURN Covenant from?

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:22 (twenty-one years ago)

that's the swedish ebm covenant.

scott seward (scott seward), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Jordan (Jordan), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm talking about the Swedish one. The "Dead Stars" people.

ben welsh (benwelsh), Friday, 27 February 2004 15:51 (twenty-one years ago)

kephm, Friday, 27 February 2004 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

Thanky. Is that all worth that's worth buying?

ben welsh (benwelsh), Friday, 27 February 2004 20:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Search: "Dreams of a Cryotank" (esp."Theremin"), "Sequencer", "Europa", next album after that's singles.
Destroy: Rest of their output for colluding with the rest of their "future-pop" friends and making me hate clubs.

two years pass...
Coven: The Portrait Coven were one of the first bands with occult lyrics in the 60´s. Their album Witchcraft - Destroys Minds And Reaps Souls that featured an original recitation of a Black Mass was released one year before the first Black Sabbath album and featured a track called Black Sabbath. The name of the bass player of Coven was Ozzy Osbourne, but he had nothing to do with Black Sabbath Ozzy.

Amoeba's recommendation:
Coven - Witchcraft Destroys Minds and Reaps Souls Imagine a satanic Jefferson Airplane with a rough on the edges Grace Slick murmuring tales of misfortune and redemption. At first this seems like a mediocre psychedelic hard rock album from1969, then intertwined through themes of witchcraft and the devil, it becomes apparent that this is the link between the summer of love and Black Sabbath.

Coven on a Covenant thread? okay.

scott seward (scott seward), Tuesday, 11 April 2006 14:34 (nineteen years ago)

i have a pristine first-pressing gatefold copy of the first Coven album and i cherish it, but i never ever play it. i just love the cover and artwork. amazing to look at. the cd will never convey this, i'm afraid.
