Inspired by a few people picking me on the Which other ILM'ers have the most similar taste in music to yours? thread; I'm unsure as to what my own taste is, and thus somewhat baffled that anyone else could identify with it. So this is the thread where we try and distill each others tastes to see how well we (don't) know each other.

I'm probably going against the spirit of the thread by doing this, but Douglas Wolk once summed up my taste incredibly well on a "list some records you like and let other ilxors recommend something based on it" thread:

JBR: "writerly," attitudinal, messy, fun. All the records you mention (well the five of them I know, plus I know who Genya Ravan is) have a strong sense of "here is my aesthetic, now EAT IT," but esp. the Dylan and the Germs also have a specificity of authorial intent & subtlety behind the constructed pose.
