Wow. Fuckin' "Doot Doot"! THAT'S a song I haven't heard in a very VERY long time.

Mr. Snrub (Mr. Snrub), Thursday, 4 March 2004 13:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I heard Underworld does it live if you're nice to them :)

Donna Brown (Donna Brown), Thursday, 4 March 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

"Doot Doot" is an awesome song. The rest of the Freur album isn't as good though. Pino Palladino plays bass, however....

Nice mix. I'd enjoy listening to that right about now....

Patrick South (Patrick South), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

No Cure?

Dude (The Yellow Dart), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:23 (twenty-one years ago)

No Smiths?

No New Order?

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, the first four tracks are 1970's

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

As the guy says in, oh, the first 8 words of his post!

Tico Tico (Tico Tico), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:31 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm feeling some serious 80s nostalgia right about now. I wonder how long it would take on p2p to actually make this.

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

hasn't rhino records already made this?

fact checking cuz (fcc), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Really?! The same track listing? What's it called?

o. nate (onate), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:43 (twenty-one years ago)

"new wave hits of the '80s: just can't get enough." in true rhino fashion, there's something like 15 volumes, and between them you'll find just about your entire track listing. here's volume 1.

fact checking cuz (fcc), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:53 (twenty-one years ago)

Brilliant! About half of those were released in the 70's!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Thursday, 4 March 2004 17:02 (twenty-one years ago)

even on volume 2, they're still straddling 1979/1980. but you've gotta love an '80s set that's still stuck in 1980 even on volume 3. it's a pretty great series.

fact checking cuz (fcc), Thursday, 4 March 2004 17:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I took the rhino compilation as a starting point, but i changed it a lot and make it better (IMO, of course). "Doot doot" and "are friend electric" are not in the "just can't get enough"
series, for example.

Elvis is Dead, Thursday, 4 March 2004 17:38 (twenty-one years ago)

I was wondering cuz I heard a good portion of cd1 in a bar last week desperately trying to finish my drink so I could get out of there and away from a those piggy yups and their soft, donut memories.

2. No David Bowie? Lets Dance (1983) is only the greatest 80's album
3. No cure?
4. NO NEW ORDER?
5. Blondie?
6. No Hip Hop?
7. Electic Avenue
8. Eurythmics
9. PSB's
10.Loverboy - "everybodys working for the weekend"

Doryphoros, Friday, 5 March 2004 04:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"Surely, we need some 80's disco and R&B?
01 Lipps Inc. - Funkytown"

1979!

Stewart Osborne (Stewart Osborne), Friday, 5 March 2004 14:35 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, "Funkytown" was released and was a #1 hit in 1980...

Seb (Seb), Saturday, 6 March 2004 18:33 (twenty-one years ago)

why would anyone pick the 95 mix of 'crash' over the original?
