coming to madrid this saturday, how are they live?

manuel (manuel), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:14 (twenty-one years ago)

I missed them in Belfast last Friday (I was at something else) but I heard that they were fantastic. Not one person said they were anything less than incredible.

So I would go ;)

Thanks! I'm staying just for the w-e, but the Chx sound pretty tempting...

Baaderoni (Fabfunk), Thursday, 4 March 2004 16:46 (twenty-one years ago)

you're very welcome

Somehow I've managed to see them three times. I don't get it. It seems like a pep-club skit. Yet somehow they survive, much like the roach.

I wasn't that impressed the time I saw them live.. but then it wasn't that bad either. I guess they survive because of the fashion side of thing. The fashion mags write about them, so they're fashionable. Therefore those people with wonky haircuts and like wearing stripey clothes want to go and see them cos it's fashionable.. making them cool and fashionable and so on...

Hmmm. The gig in Madrid was fantastic! Did you go Manuel? (great venue by the way, the ensuing club night was terrific)

Baaderoni (Fabfunk), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 09:32 (twenty-one years ago)

I saw them almost two weeks ago and they were brilliant. It was a very dancey show.

suzy (suzy), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 09:37 (twenty-one years ago)

They were quite good in leicester. Their best song by 'quite some way' is We Don't Play Guitars.

flowersdie (flowersdie), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 09:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed, 'Guitars' did steal the show. Did they have this weird garage twosome as opening act for the entire tour?

Baaderoni (Fabfunk), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 09:55 (twenty-one years ago)

No. It was a girl with a cool blonde bob jumping around all over the place. She sang quite a lot in German.

flowersdie (flowersdie), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 10:03 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh yes, she was there too, subsequently filming and airguitar-ing with the Chicks..

Baaderoni (Fabfunk), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 11:19 (twenty-one years ago)

i saw them a couple of years ago at a music festival. i ahd no idea who they were then, i just liked the name and knew i'd heard it before. and it was that or sparta or something awful like that. they were fantastic, but i was one of only about 30 people who thought so. smallest dance floor of the night.

three months pass...
CoS >supported Red Hot Chili Peppers at Hyde Park last night. Unsurprisingly, they had to leave the stage because of 100,000 pissed-up cunts throwing bottles.

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Monday, 21 June 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

Hang on, I forgot to point out exactly how weird it is the Chicks On Speed supported Red Hot Chili Peppers. I mean... huh?
