Dear Rockafella
My name is De'Angelo, i'm 24 and I'm overwhelmed by the work of this label. I've been wanting to be a producer since i was about 13, I've been playing key's since then (keyboard). I'm from the dirty souf (Moultrie,Ga) about 3 hours from ATL and round here ain't to much going on in the music field, except you got a lot of homies wanna rap and come to my house and lay down tracks in my demo studio, but are not serious about fully concentrating on it, they wanna come and lay a track down and put it on Wax and then that's it they think a 4 song demo CD is doin it and they go out and they let they homeboyz duplicate it and they put it out just to get negative responses from tha streetz, but they won't listen i've been making beats' for about 5 years now, and into the whole producer role about 2 1/2 and still doing a lot a research and going to different studios just to get a different feel of different type surroundings, music, and different insight's from another producer's aspect. Mainly i'm just trying to get some of my musical tracks(NO VOCALS) that i have gotten copyrighted heard, and to get a real opinion on whether they are serious enough for the music industry or whether i need to be more precise with my tracks or add more instrumentation, or whether it's ready or what. It would help me a lot if i could have some kind of response from someone that could help me or listen to some of my stuff not to get a deal or nothin but just to get an idea of what i'm working with from a pro's level.
Thanks for your patience and your time.
Sincerely,
De'Angelo
P>S My number is (229) 798-0317 or (229) 798-0433 if you need to contact me. Once thanks again.

Keep going. The sad truth is it really is who you know rather than what you know. It sounds like you've been putting the hours in and you're dedicated to what you do, so great, that part is fine. What you need to do now is go out and meet and greet people.
The most likely way you're going to get anywhere is when an act that is going places chooses you to produce their material. So keep your eye on local talent, look for who is the best or most likely to get some success, go to their shows or get in touch and offer your services. If you can convince an act that you and only you can make them sound like they want to, then you're in. If you're good then it shouldn't be hard, for every one decent engineer/producer there are a thousand who are downright awful.
As well as this, get a brief demo CD together of the best of what you've done and send it out to every label you think would be interested. Don't just send them wherever, check out labels and work out wether they'd be right for you. About 90% of demos ever sent were a waste of time because the person sending it didn't check out where he was sending it to and wether they'd be interested.
Hope that's of some help.
