so, listening to the genius cru's course bruv and all that aspirational/good times garage seems to be such a long time ago, that strain doesn't seem to be in grime whatsover, muscled aside by the blokeishness and fronting

or is it?

Yeah maybe that whole "Pick Yourself Up"/"Take Time"/"Chosen One" vibe of pop-psychology is grime's closest equivalent to bonhomie these days.
