Classic or Dud: Flood (the producer)

Engineered New Order's "Movement," went on to produce or engineer Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, U2, Curve, Nine Inch Nail, Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Jesus and Mary Chain, among many others. Lately seems to be doing ... nothing? Waiting for Reznor to give him a call?

Anyway, what does everyone think of his work?

Also coproduced Marc Almond's brilliant solo debut Untitled. :-) Did some good work with Erasure as well.

he was in Node, the überproducer supergroup that made sweet live- sequenced electronics, Berlin-school flashback style. i wouldn't mind a follow up to their LP/EP on Deviant one of these days, if Flood isn't doing anything else at the moment.

Flood can come up with some very high tech dirty sounds that are like axel grease hand smudges and mud on a slick lined, high designed automobile.

two weeks pass...
I didn't really become very aware of Flood until I started reading the credits on the albums which I listened to the most (Nine Inch Nails, Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, etc...) and there it was again and again: "Produced by Flood"! That kinda got me thinking: Who is this guy? How come I never see him in magazines? Where can I find out more? What will he do next?

FLOOD...REAL NAME MARK ELLIS....LIVES SOMEWHERE IN LONDON,A VERY "DOWN TO EARTH LIFESTYLE"...NAME GIVEN DUE TO HIS ER "TEAMAKING SKILLS" IN THE STUDIO IN THE EARLY DAYS...LORD KNOWS WHERE HE IS NOW?

HIS "ELECTRO GREASE" SMEARS ON N-I-N AND DEPECHE MODE ET AL ARE SORELY MISSED

THE NODE ALBUM WAS ACTUALLY A CUT AND PASTE (OR CUT AND FADE) OF A "JAM" BETWEEN THE FOUR OF THEM IN AUG 1994

THANK YOU
