Bob Log III

He's coming through town next week. I love "Clap Your Tits" and all of Trike, which is all I'm familiar with. Is his live show as fun as he makes it seem on record? Is it worth the $8 if I'm quitting my job this week and don't have another one lined up?

Definitely, Famous Athlete. And do yourself a favour and try some of the boob scotch, that's some fine drinkin'.

I think the first month I spent on ILM was just basically making an ass out of myself talking about how great Log Bomb was.
I was annoying. Annoying and right.

"Do you want to hear me play the fastest fucking song in the world?!"

YEAH!

"Do you want to hear me play the fastest fucking song in the world, while blindfolded?!"

YYEEAAHH!!

"Do you want to hear me play the fastest fucking song in the world, while blindfolded WITH A TUBETOP?!"

YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!

The Bob Log III show was the absolute funnest show I've been to in at least 3 years. Run, don't walk, to the show!

Saw him open for Mr. Quintron in Detroit last fall. He was fun -- definitely the type of performer you see live rather than buying an album from. Primitive swamp rock.

Jeff Sumner (Jeff Sumner), Tuesday, 9 March 2004 14:47 (twenty-one years ago)

He is a really fun show, especially if you don't know his records at all. It's a "schtick" but it's a fun schtick, and he really is a furious guitar player - you are guaranteed to laugh and shake your ass at least once.

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 9 March 2004 20:47 (twenty-one years ago)

but the records....not worth it? cuz i'm intrigued. I dig Quintron, Oblivians, Country Teasers...that kinda crap.

I have "Trike" and it's not bad, it's fun to slap on every once in awhile. But it does pale in comparison to seeing him perform.

Shakey Mo Collier, Tuesday, 9 March 2004 23:26 (twenty-one years ago)

He's Tom Waits in disguise. Or Winona Ryder.

You known what - he's a great gutiarist and songwriter, schtick aside. He has a terrific feel for the kind of music he plays.

six years pass...

friend tells me of time that a female friend of his in NZ went to a bob log III show over there. she got a bunch of other women to chant for 'cock scotch' as bob was about to perform 'boob scotch', which led to bob inviting her on stage as he put his cock into a glass of scotch, and invited her to drink it which she did. she later contracted a throat infection. be careful what you wish for, ladies.
