so wrong. so wonderfully wrong.

The Beatniks perform many "fly-aways" to cities all over the US, including shows in New York for LaForce and Stevens (Absolute Vodka's national release party for ABSOLUTE ALBUM COVERS) presented by the President of Absolute worldwide; Future Brands (Jim Beam etc.) to play at their National convention in Las Vegas for 9,000 people recently. Other performances include: Seattle Mariner's post-game concert at The Kingdome, Detlef Schrempf's Celebrity Golf Classic Gala, The Bite of Seattle, The Bite of Portland, The Portland Rose Festival, The Taste of Edmonds (sponsored by MTV) and The Seafair Ball.

National Sports teams enjoy hiring the Beatniks. The Seattle Seahawks hired the boys to play two seasons (1998-1999) as the house band during all home games. The Seattle Mariners, Emerald Downs Racetrack and the Portland Trailblazers, have all chosen the band for their events. National Celebrities not only hire the band, but are frequently seen on the stage with them. When Bruce Willis needed a high-caliber act to christen his new nite club, The Mint, in Sun Valley, Idaho - he called the Beatniks (Bruce even sat in with his harmonica) . Paul Allen has jammed with the Beatniks on stage, as seen on CNN and The Seattle Times.

Kevin Nelson, who was in my 6th grade class in Yakima, Washington was always talking about the Beatniks because his brother was in the band, I think. Back then they played originals. I remember his t-shirt with the logo. How weird and sad.
