I DLd the first one and listened to about half of it...I like the tracks you use. They flow well but manage to avoid the samey schranz trap. Nicely done with the Static Drum track, I've heard Claude Young totally fuck up a mix with that record.

If you're going to use this as a demo you might want to redo the start. The mixing goes in and out a bit between 1:02 and 1:32 and again at around 3:10. While there are a couple of other mixes that slip a bit, it's the first two or three that you want to be seamless. (in fairness, the only people really likely to notice are DJs and trainspotters...but the promoter you play it to could well be one or both of these).

Listening to the first mix and I like it, I do. :-)

i am digging the second mix actually quite a bit. I like the fact you pushed the bpms a bit, it gives the whole thing a nice urgency.

Thanks for the feedback all. When doing and listening to clubby techno in the mix, I'd much rather hear a dj going for it and trying stuff than laying back and letting tracks play out for 5 minutes. The tracks are already so minimal, that for me, if the dj isn't doing something to add to it it misses the point. Myself, if I scale it down a bit and let tracks play for 3-4 minutes (instead of the 1:30-2:00 I did in this mix) I can get everything pretty much 100% smooth but I'd rather go for it. At least in mixes for myself/my friends. For promo mixes I usually do slow down a bit and go for smoothness.

Anyway, thanks to everybody who listened. Also, I do a weekly internet radio mix show on wednesday nights at 6:30 pm Pacific Standard Time (gmt -8:00)

96kbps stream: http://www.dirtyradio.net/high/listen.pls
24kbps stream: http://www.dirtyradio.net/low/listen.pls

We have the radio running 24-7 with a mix of fresh underground dance music and cool indie rock, with live mix shows most weeknights. (DnB on mondays, Techno tuesdays - thursdays). Check out http://www.dirtyradio.net if you're interested.

Help! What's happening?

I clicked on the first link and a windows media player thing appeared but did nothing. After a while I closed it. A minute or two later the music started playing, from nowhere. I've got no applications open apart from this website. Have I downloaded the file? Where's the music coming from???

I like it, by the way.

i like the first mix, but yeah, worth tightening up on those early mixes, cos with techno, well, you now how imperative the whole *sound* of the drums (their quality, the way they pop when they're perfectly tim time) is...nice track selection, except i've always found wetmusic stuff soulless. i'd lose that. but yeah, nice
