Does anyone know who produced the early Spiral Tribe Sound System releases?

I'm particularly interested in knowing who was behind the tracks Forward the Revolution and Ragga Boom...dug up an old tape this evening and was struck by how well they've aged.

(was going to make a comment about Ragga Boom sounding like a Bug vs. Rootsman track, then realised that the stuff Bug vs. Rootsman do is actually kind of retro)

pretty certain that would be Sebastian Vaughan, who pretty much WAS Spiral Tribe when it came to the music

last i heard he was in Paris and making hardacidtekno type trax and distributing music, quite involved in the free party scene in France

Cheers...must find out what kind of noises he's making these days.

There were CD releases of the Forward the Revolution EP and the Techno Terra LP, but I think that was about it. I don't remember Techno Terra being very good, but I haven't heard it in almost 10 years. Sounded great live though.

after doing a few early whites Spiral Tribe were signed to Big Life, which was one of the leading dance indies for a while, the boss thought they would be the Sex Pistols of rave or something, so yeah those eps were available in cd form. the later stuff came out as white labels mostly, it was kinda interesting but not exactly home listenable.

i wonder where Seb is now, he was a nice guy if a bit 'cosmic'

funnily i just had chat w/ someone who was involved with Spiral Tribe and she said it got really heavy and paranoid in the Tribe camp not long after 'Morton -- they had guns. "Unsavory" was her word.

My mate had some great tapes from castlemorton that we used to listen to all the time around 93 or so. He lost them years ago and I've always wanted to track some down. There was one in particular that had this great bit in the middle that went "this is the old style, this is the new style" (cue fast kickdrums). Anybody ever seen these for sale or anything? One of the tapes was definitely Digs & Woosh (from DiY)...

Also: "Techno terra" sucked big time.
