What is Jack Black worth?

A friend of mine won a $1,200 Gibson electric -- autographed by Jack Black -- in an air-guitar contest in Boston last weekend. He plays, but is debating whether it keep it or sell it on eBay (which the contest promoters told him would be a no-no). What do you think he could fetch?

What song did he play to in the contest? (Makes a difference as to how much the guitar is worth.)

that's so funny! i just saw the same contest going on in a local hmv and all i could think about was "how much would that fetch on ebay? would i sell it in the guitar section or the autographed memorabilia section?"

I'll give you five bucks for Jack Black's head in a bowling bag.

Some Tenacious D fanboy would probably pay handsomely for it.

i doubt a tenacious d fanboy would have $1200 to buy the original guitar

You'd be surprised.

I doubt tenacious d fanboys understand the concept of money.

They understand the concept of money, they just don't understand the concept of funny.

Not to be all fuss-budgety, but do the promoters have any legitimate way to enforce this? Do you now have to sign something saying "Winner warrants that he won't sell/auction/hock the prize" or is it more like "Dude, Jack's gonna be so bummed if he hears you sold his axe, dude"?
